had it last night with lentils coincidentally and it’s kind of a perfect “brasserie at home” dish.

it’s a song in our primordial limbic system, coming into being at the same time as the other existential foundations in genesis. i had a three hour minibus journey in a sweltering spain where me gusta mueve mueve, me gusta. MUEVE! played on a loop. to the tranquility of old and young on board.
ah, well that’s v good to know anyway. looks fantastic.
where is that? looks lovely. i’m going to paris with my mum later this year (birthday treat) and as well as amarante i’m looking for a couple of recommendations. (i’m assuming paris ofc!)
yes, a little noodle of some sort.
guest informant not actually on the original LP iirc. tho it was on the cassette (which i bought). the time of mysterious format/song version/multiple EP versions juggling.
v good effort. have an excellent trip. hope the weather in paris is as nice as it is in leiden at the moment.
What does Lisa Nandy believe her job is, and why is she actually in politics?
did a quick transcription of it here (for me to read on the train home) if it’s helpful. there’ll a couple of transcription errors or gaps but it should be ok.

chatbot zuck is relevant in this context as well because a problem with that reduction of management is access. senior management and CEOs who don’t know how to operate or manage imperfect organisations and think it should just be “i said this, now it should just happen”
omg cold brisket from the boiled beef and carrots i did at the weekend, with a mustard vinaigrette is just 👌
obv great that orbán’s gone.
i’m really wary: former Fidesz, nationalist, increasing immigration restrictions, inheriting a machinery for power. and now this cat.
pimsleur is great but yes, a mix of “i am never actually going to have these conversations” and then when you’re transacting stuff abroad i’m all “STICK TO THE SCRIPT”.
i had to do this once on the paris metro and it was so nice to have an audience.
not for everyone - there are a *lot* of people in the UK market (and not just PSBs) who care about accessibility and standards have always been high. but streamers have different volume/cost considerations (especially where localisation is a big cost factor) and favour AI in tech led workflows.
i mean tbf you don’t need to go to more effort, you just need to substantially take out all the elements designed to support subtitle quality at the same time as moving to AI first workflows. accessibility has often been the “oh we gotta do this huh?” after the money’s been spent.
The quality of subtitling on streaming services is astonishingly bad, you have to go to *more* effort to have subtitles this bad.
On that isn’t here because I think I lost it is the extraordinarily comprehensive pelican on the mesopotamians which resulted in a lifetime fascination. Wonderful books.
the pelican right? “can i get out of the box yet? i has wisdom”
i “liked” but ffs yes OBVIOUSLY.
it was noticeable a) that the gig was harder, more gothic, more electro than the albums b) she managed the whole thing like a dj set. the progression and contrast in and within tracks was v impressive. from interviews she’s someone who takes the move from dj-ing to performing as a band v seriously
saw them perform last friday and it was *great*. man next to me got increasingly angry the more techno and dj-ing elements came in, presumably expecting wispy indie, and ending up storming out. a delight that has brought the album to life as well. no hmhb covers sadly
i just looked up who it was and see why it has to be a joke but tbh i still have no clue what’s going on here
oh and there’s that “minimising” thing? i just don’t understand it.
i can’t. they drift from a social media interaction to civil war in clapham (ludicrous, v right coded atm) to being somehow distracted into doing a racism and i really don’t see any other way to read it despite the weird “i’ve been told off” bit which suggests they know what they’re doing.
classic pelicans.
anyway this is an entirely correct opinion imv as laughter is specifically sharpened against the modes, megrims and mockeries of the time and if it’s not then it loses its tooth. satire is obv the extreme example of this tho there’s no need for it to overlap with funny or comedy necessarily.
he said scoldingly
there’s a sonorous sort of commentator-poster, who believe wrongly they were formative twitter posters and that period is what microblogging is *for* and how it is done *properly* and they brought that bluetickness to bsky and it is 💀💀💀. i’m crap at x/bsky so dgaf but scolds and bores can get to f.
