Look at this devastation of the beautiful Pacific Palisades. I am in the next town over, outside the evacuation boundary, but not by that much. I have a packed suitcase, the wind gusts are not as high as they were, and I am vigilant. I feel so sad for so many.

When you hear about wildfires, most people associate them with places that are remote or rural, mountain towns, that kind of thing. The Pacific Palisades and Eaton fires are nothing like that …..

Fire hydrants ran dry in Pacific Palisades as a major wildfire raged Janisse Quiñones, CEO of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, said the fight to contain the flames has put immense strain on the system.

Water is becoming a major issue in the Southern California fires.

As crews battled the wildfire in Pacific Palisades, they put so much strain on the water system that the fire hydrants ran dry.

The fires have also fed ash into the water supply, leading to a boil order notice.
