Life shouldn't be able to give you something this precious, someone you love this much, and then take them away again. But I'd take all the heartbreak again for the time we did have. I hope SO MUCH that he's doing OK and finds his way home but I'll keep him with me the only way I can until then.
Tiger Lily, my older cat.
Boc, my younger cat.
Aforementioned cats.
Got my 1st tattoo yesterday (will be a while before it looks its best, but already really happy with it). It's for my cats, who I ironically now have to be careful to keep it away from, haha. The lily is for Tiger Lily and the needle is for Boc (after the seamster in Elden Ring).
100% programmer, not artist, but had an urge to dig out pens/pencils for the first time in forever as a break from work. Always used to work really "sketchy", constantly erasing/redoing, so forced myself to commit to whatever lines went down. Lots to work on, haha, but here's my first drawing back.
If anyone's looking for me, I'll be here. Happy. Staring at a big bunch of water shaders, courtesy of all you lovely lovely techartists.

It's been SO nice having a place to see all the wonderful things people are working on again this last week or so. I'm really looking forward to contributing to it but, one of the downsides of being self-employed, I haven't had a day off since the 29th. π« Soon! ...after crashing for a day. π
Hey everyone!
This is my new personal project, a flower attack made in UE5's Niagara.
I got more videos better showcasing some aspects of this piece like the animated roots and the shockwave. Please check my Art station post:

My cat, Boc, staring intently at my phone screen.
Boc just watched this on loop while purring loudly for about 5 minutes, so apparently it's relatable to cats too. π
π The worst part is that this could apply to so many show at this point. I'm so used to things not even getting a season 2 anymore that it's hard to bother watching anything new in case you just have your heartbroken again, haha.

Just announced our next game, TRON: Catalyst. It's an isometric story driven action game, coming to consoles and PC in 2025. I am so proud of my team, and excited to be continuing our adventures in the iconic universe of TRON. Wishlist now! store.steampowered.com/app/3025590/...
There's a chance I've slightly lost track of barrelling through learning Unreal as quickly as possible and got distracted with just making a game. (Pun genuinely not intended but, now I've noticed it, I'm leaving it in.)
I'm setting defaults in the blueprint at the moment. Is that the only place you can set these, unlike actor/components, or am I missing a section of the editor? Or, indeed, is this not something I should be trying to do for best practices?
I'm using my week off to teach myself Unreal and have a super basic first game together on day 1. Wooh! However, I have a question I've not been able to answer if any Unreal people can help, please. Where can you edit public variables from a level blueprint?
I'd love to dive back into my main personal project but, knowing I'd have to drop it again so soon, I'm not sure it's the right time.
Having gotten contract projects to a point where I have next week off, and knowing my inability to take time off properly, I don't suppose there's a fortuitously timed game jam to join? Or, failing that, an idea for a "silly" project I can try and knock out in a few days?π
A photo of my tortoise-shell cat, Tiger Lily, sleeping on my office chair.
Another late one working but Tiger Lily has nicked my seat so I guess I'm standing into the early hours. π

Splitting up functionality across scenes (helps keep things manageable, easier isolated testing, easier collaboration) but, sometimes, I want to quickly test what I'm working on in context. So, new editor tool to let me pick which scene will run when entering play mode.
This was a my favourite #LiesofP boss so far. Didn't take many tries (this was my first seeing the disruption or clone abilities) but really satisfying to learn her move set and start to parry it all. Excited to aiming for hitless on my 2nd playthrough. www.youtube.com/v/DC1wFvzl1rc
Got to say, repeated job applications without even getting confirmation of it being received, let alone a rejection (or, god forbid, feedback), is just a tiny little bit massively demoralising.
The first time I cleared phase 1 and discovered that it was only phase 1 almost broke me. π
After Lords of the Fallen and another run of Elden Ring, diving back into #LiesofP took some adjusting. Hit upon Fallen Archbishop Andreus almost immediately on my return and it took about an hour of trial and error to get him. Loved every second, though! www.youtube.com/v/RlpuAad6lRM
I finished the card game I designed as a birthday present for my sister, got it printed, and we played a few games today. I think it went down well and, by the 3rd round, I'd forgotten it was even a game I made rather than a "real" one, if that makes sense. π
Get ready, our Wayfinder Art blast has dropped on Artstation today!!! So happy to be part of such an amazing team, seeing everyone's work warms my heart π magazine.artstation.com/2023/10/airs...
Just hit "send" on a job application email I've spent 2.5 days agonising over. So, now we wait. π π€
I am not even kidding I am desperately looking for some more work!
Bills have been piling up and having just one job isnβt enough anymore π
