Spain's renewables build-out has structurally decoupled its electricity prices from gas markets. Gas now sets the price in only 15% of hours, compared to 90% in Italy.
Countries that invested early in clean power are far less exposed to fossil fuel price shocks. Those that didn't now pay the price.

This story has been puzzling, because im still not clear exactly what is meant to have happened where, or why DV insists there was egregious family voting but the council seems so sure nothing was raised with them on the day (bar one concern, I’m told, which apparently turned out to be innocent)
Look, maybe I am already just in a bad mood, but it is ludicrous to me that we are having a really intense argument about sectarian voting when there isn't really that much evidence that it was why the Greens won. This is immediately just accepted wisdom, and we can scold using it.
