This Is Just To Say
I have turned off
the AI features

Fuck you
they were stupid
so unnecessary

@ijeomaoluo.bsky.social wrote a stellar piece when the film came out that identified the true villain of Black Panther was white supremacy. (I revisit the piece pretty regularly; like all her work, it’s pretty spectacular.)
Dear God, yes, we are absolutely telling TEENAGERS not to have children! We are telling them to have their full span of childhood before becoming parents. This is a VERY GOOD THING.
So true. I couldn’t watch. I had to just wait for the notification.
I was a rape crisis counselor for decades and I have just one thing to say about the false accusation conversation.
Believe survivors.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE TAGGING ME IN ON THE VATICAN / PENTAGON BEEF HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLY SHIT
Possibly?
My toxic trait is I fully believe I could land a plane if I had someone in my ear giving me directions. (Look, I know there’s no universe where I’m the one in that position, and I *know* I couldn’t really. But I fully *believe* I could.)
This is so, so well-articulated.
This is 100% his MO and has been from the jump. Use people until they are no longer useful to you and then fire them. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t gone on to mock them for abandoning whatever principles they may have previously had in order to come work to him. (He just calls them traitors…)
Saving this entire thread for a reminder of why we do the “slog” of research, writing, and editing! That is where you find the true gems.
Did we not do this already in Vietnam? I seem to remember a court case about it…
Same protester dressed as lady liberty grinning as she is walked down the sidewalk by the LAPD. Caption reads Police arrest a protestor dressed as the Statue of Liberty, in downtown Los Angeles after the "No Kings" rally Saturday, March 28, 2026. (AP Photo/Jill Connelly)
AP News shows her treating it like a catwalk. Queen shit.
This was a fantastic story! A sweet bonus was learning the other two invitations she accepted - but the heart of the story is absolutely brilliant. “It’s just math.” 😍
Mission accomplished.
A white man in a Cleveland Cavaliers hat and a purple T20 Cricket World Cup , and a white woman in sunglasses and a gray “For the love of God, stop banning books” shirt at the Carson City, NV rally.
@paulrichardson82.bsky.social and I at the rally. ❤️ “Next time at the free stamp” in Cleveland!
I have no skills at measuring crowd size, but there were at least a couple thousand folk filling both sides of the streets in front of the statehouse. Very positive crowd, folk driving past were honking and lots of visible support in most cars.
A jellyfish protest “sign” that says “spineless” “blind” on the tentacles and “It’s time to grow a spine” on the placard below at the Carson City, NV No Kings rally.
“Make lying wrong again, Make America think again, “Make humans matter again, Make people care again, NO Kings” sign with a picture of Lady Liberty.
Winnie the Pooh fighting for democracy on the street in Carson City.
Big good ole boy truck roared through several times with “No Kings in America” and 8647” flags hanging off his truck bed in Carson City.
We’re visiting family in Carson City, NV and we’re so impressed by the #NoKings rally at the statehouse!
Exactly this!
Yes, absolutely
At least three UCC churches have been damaged by the storms. Several other UCC churches have made their buildings available as shelters for those who need refuge from the elements.

Goldman Sachs reports that 300 million full-time jobs could be replaced by AI by 2030. Labor turnover is high and hiring has slowed. 71% of Americans worry that AI will cause permanent job loss. As young people about to enter the workforce for the first time, the fear of unemployment is understandable, but we cannot save ourselves with the very tool that is putting us at risk. The irony is that as Penn pours endless money and energy into AI advancement in its attempt to get ahead, the University is only quickening its own demise. AI cannot coexist with education — it can only degrade it. As technology advances and workers are replaced by machines, schools are some of the only places we have left to explore and wrestle with human thought. With our own university leading the charge, AI is now corrupting those few sacred spaces and leaving us with nowhere to engage in true scholarship. Editorials represent the majority view of members of The Daily Pennsylvanian Editorial Board who meet regularly to discuss issues relevant to the Penn community. This body is led by Editorial Board Chair Jack Lakis and is entirely separate from the newsroom. Questions or comments should be directed to letters@thedp.com.
An unaccounted for part of the economy is how much young people virulently hate AI, despite how aggressively it's being forced on them. They realize it's making their friends dumber and ruining the world and they want nothing to do with it.

Done!
Good God yes
Re: my last reposts
“Do not put money in the pocket of a woman who has sworn publicly to use it to disenfranchise vulnerable populations” is the smallest ask imaginable. It’s not oxygen, it’s not food. It’s television. You can do without. There are thousands of other shows for you to watch.
(Also the Holy Spirit!)
Listen, I *wanted* to be a priest. I just assumed it was not possible, in that way 9 year olds do. Fortunately, hippie UCC church camp sorted that out for me. 😍
True story: listening to our Lutheran pastor chant the Eucharist liturgy is what convinced me at age 9 that I couldn’t be a pastor.
Joke’s on me - I have been an ordained minister in the UCC for almost 23 years! (And never had to chant a liturgy yet!)
I might give it a go.)
A gorgeous thread
Better article re: the #TargetBoycott
"The company confirmed to USA Today that it’s making no new commitments or reversals on its DEI policy."
and
"Black women across the country are reminding people that they started the boycott — and they’ll decide when it ends."
