Excellent question to Robert Jenrick about his defection to Reform UK 👏
"I just wonder how we can have any faith in politicians who've displayed such naked opportunism?"

Many years ago I did a cultural awareness course and rule one was this: You can criticise your own country and you can do it as much as you like. But when someone else does it, you remember all the things you actually love about it and - it's enraging.
Another very pertinent fact that I have not seen mentioned ANYWHERE: In 14 years of Tory rule we had 14 Prisons Ministers - six in a single year, at one point - and a total of 11 Justice Secretaries, including Grayling, Raab, and Truss. In 13 years of Labour it was three: Irvine, Falconer, Straw. 🤔

#OtD 27 Sep 1936 1000 uniformed fascist Blackshirts led by Oswald Mosley in Leeds, UK, were confronted by 30,000 anti-fascist locals who attacked them, pelted them with stones, hitting Mosley, and drowned out speeches by singing The Red Flag stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/9965...
The ITV exposé on COVID now turns its sights on testing. I was stunned in 2020 when Sir Paul Nurse - Director of the Francis Crick Institute - told me he’d written to the government to offer the services of the Crick (the biggest biomeolecular lab in the country) - and never got a reply…
I increasingly feel that the lobby has not yet moved on from writing about the catastrophically dysfunctional Tories and is determined to see Labour through the same lens. www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...
Rayner resigned.
Your move Farage.
Can we convince you to continue your campaign against those who seek to get out of paying stamp duty, @thesun.co.uk? How about you, @telegraphnews.bsky.social? Surely, you're outraged about this, @dailymail.co.uk? Anyone?
I oppose the Council’s proposals for new paid parking areas near Boscombe and Southbourne beaches.
It’s a sledgehammer to crack a nut. The proposals are unworkable, I believe the Council are wrong, and it’ll be people on lower incomes who are impacted most.
Retired secondary teacher, I was mystified when my year 6 grandson mentioned 'fronted adverbials'. I'd never heard of them. He's now in year 9 - I asked him if he had ever used them since his SATS. He's a bright, motivated lad, but he had no memory whatsoever of them. There is hope!

Setting tariffs is not some presidential power set out in US constitution.
Congress has delegated this power to Trump, and Congress can take it back.
This ultimately is about Congressional weakness as about Presidential madness.
This problem has a constitutional solution, if Congress wants it.
I accidentally purchased some food vouchers for La Trattoria in Swanage, Dorset instead of La Trattoria in Helmsley for a work colleague’s birthday! Let’s make sure they don’t go to waste. Get in touch if you could make use of them! Let’s spread the word to the good people of Swanage! 😂😂😂
Given that just 4.25% of the world's population lives in the United States of America this might be the moment for the 95.75% of the rest of us to leave them to it.
Many overseas markets that the UK could be focusing on for example - you know like the fucking enormous one on our doorstep.

We have a graduate generation struggling to find good, secure jobs, and a teaching profession that can't attract enough applicants. Pay teachers better and you might go some way to solving two problems at once. And a bonus: better educated kids.
