I never tried Assam tea until I walked into Trader Joe's and now it seems to be discontinued (according to the person stocking the tea shelves section at my local store), so can anyone recommend an alternative brand that comes close? 🫖☕️

thank you, that interview was one of the more insightful ones i've come across so far — alas it seems like Nate Swanson doesn't have a social account to keep getting those insights

Today is the birthday of artist Bernard Krigstein (March 22, 1919-Jan. 8, 1990). He drew for EC Comics & Mad magazine, and illustrated books, magazines, & albums. Also a painter & teacher, he is best remembered in comics for Master Race, the 1955 EC Comics story about the horrors of the holocaust.

A wall of framed art from Sam Kieth's comics with the exhibition title, "Sam Kieth: Samplings and Dabblings."
More of Kieth's art, including a sculpture that looks sort of like an old-fashioned movie camera with feet.

A label from the show: "this display case contains numerous trout artifacts from the trout brush (ca. 1904) to the trout 8-track (ca. 1978). Sam Kieth's trout-inspired sketchbook is also featured in this collection of rare and unusual trout ephemera."

The best art exhibit I've ever had the joy of poring over was a huge, inspiring Sendak exhibit visiting Columbus a few years back; I wrote about it on the Patreon (some pics, too):

You know what's amazing about this illustration? The lady in purple is holding an old school computer printout which just came out around 1953 (and notice how the guy sitting down is clutching a slide ruler) #retrocomputing
To celebrate our 50th anniversary, we're bringing back some of our most beloved comics, including Naughty Bits #1 by Roberta Gregory: originally launched in 1991, it became the longest-running solo alternative comic book series by a female cartoonist--out 5/20! https://ow.ly/VWUr50YmLU4
