I want to like Pragmata a whole lot more than I do. Really cool combat system but outside of that it's a very generic 3rd person dad-like with a predictable plot, subpar writing, no character arcs, and environmental collision meshes that feel like they're from a different game.

This week is Star Fox Zero's 10 anniversary btw. Wednesday in the US. What a perfect day to announce a new game.
So begins another week of waiting for Nintendo to announce this damn Star Fox game.
Exactly one year ago today:
🦨I think the problem with vibe coding isn't even having the computer do all the work for you, it's that when it ends up breaking, you have no idea how the code works and you're just spending hours trying to prompt your way out of it. meanwhile, your software (say, a certain social media) stays broke

No other Arwing is built like this (in or out of Smash Bros). I can't think of any reason why they would have built it this way. Ultimate's Arwing is of course higher poly but uses traditional textures.

Other similar Smash Bros 3DS trophy models, including the Wolfen (also from Star Fox) are not modeled this way. It just uses textures. Nor is this Star Fox 64 3D model that the Smash Bros model is clearly based on.

Y'all want to see something cool? This Arwing from Smash Bros 3DS is essentially textureless. All the details including decals like the Star Fox logos are actually sculpted into the geometry and then each polygon is painted. Meaning the whole thing is obscenely high poly for a 3DS model.
Oh so I'm like... quite old.
so Bandai Namco is aware they own the IP then.
The fact that Monolith and Nintendo have gotten out 4 legally distinct Xeno games (that at this point are arguably not even legally distinct) and Bamco hasn't done anything with the legacy titles is wild.
Its with a heavy heart that I've been informed of the unfortunate passing of Jock Blaney, the voice of Wolf, Bill, & Granga in Star Fox 64. Rest in peace & thanks for all the memories you helped us all make.💔

Gettin' real tired of your bullshit Slippy.
A prominent screenshot of Star Fox 2 in an advertisement for Winter CES 1995 coverage in Nintendo Power.
Even when I'm doing research on something completely unrelated, I inevitably stumble into Star Fox 2 screenshots in old magazines.

We got to talk to Wild Blue Skies Art Director Michael Molinari about some interesting small details about the Blue Bombers🤩
What do you think they tell us about them?
Let us know in the comments below!

They spent 1 year on development and the other 8 with their hand hovering over the "let the Miis be gay" button.
If we assume Star Fox will be announced this month AND assume it's on a Tues, Wed, or Thurs (which I'd put money on cuz thats the schedule) then there is a roughly 11% chance.
My actual gut based on announcement history is it will be on a Thursday. But I can (and did) dream.
Already shared this with the NWR team last week but if Star Fox is announced on the 14th then I am the chosen one.
Original render
Updated render
old fur shader (left) vs new (right)
I know many of you were having trouble sleeping tonight because the fur shader I used for Fox in today's video thumbnail wasn't working right. I have fixed it. I also fixed some textures on the arwing and other materials. Rest easy.
Shout-out to the guy who filtered through all the exciting new Punch-Out prototype information to find the true hero of this video.

I have played through this game twice now. I did not know you could do that...
This makes me very very happy.
The arwing is an original model I built a few years ago to try and recreate the promo model from Star Fox 64's marketing assets. You can download it here: skfb.ly/oJ6vR
I made a little 3D render for the thumbnail of my new video (youtu.be/Roqw8bWnS0o), and as is tradition I included way more in the scene than I needed to.
Final Render VS the Scene
So Nintendo went and made people care about Star Fox... Now what do we do? @jtsknight92.bsky.social explores 3 potential avenues for Nintendo to capitalize on this rare momentum.

Hey, if you don't want to watch Professor Layton be railed by AI from the Level5 Slopomatic, you could watch my new Star Fox video instead. Fox famously blew up an AI after it tried to take over the Lylat System and pretended to be his dad.

We handle a lot of NES prototypes around here, so trust us when we say this one is weird. Join VGHF Founder Frank Cifaldi for a look at this prototype version of Punch-Out!! for the Nintendo Entertainment System: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T5A...
I'm working on a new Star Fox video and just living in perpetual fear that the new game will be announced before I can finish it. I have a theatrical and directors cut of the voice over in case I decide I need to finish it faster. Please Nintendo, we're a volunteer run website. I need time.
Turns out the leakers confused Rhythm Heaven and Star Fox. Easy mistake to make.
I've got to do a few interviews with @dylancuthbert.bsky.social over the years but this story is one of my favorite moments. Love the idea of waking up to find out your boss's boss has renamed your game.
