Looking at the passing networks, & hearing the Straus postgame comments, itās obv that ACFC expected (correctly) Dash to attack up their R through Avery, etc, so ACFC wanted to create overloads on the Dash L. So, each team successfully created oppo field overloads. Always appreciate your content!

Absolutely earned. Honestly, itās a serious problem across leagues, as the quality of the refereeing has not improved along with the overall improvement in the quality of play. It was an issue in Arsenal-Chelsea UWCL midweek, too, but there are countless examples across the broader landscape.
That's a penalty 6 days a week & 2 penalties if on a Sunday.
OK I simply don't understand this ref in the Legacy-Royals match. I'd be furious as a Boston fan.
If Stars are actually competent this yr, however, then sheesh, just how good is Angel City? They just picked apart this Stars club last weekend.
I totally understand the sentiment, as I grew up playing in conditions exactly like those in the Stars-Current match, but KC simply looked like they wanted to go home the whole time, so I'm not sure how much to otherwise take away from this.

āHunting High & Lowā can be on this challenge! Itās finally my time to shine! Heia Norge!
A Casey Stoney team that can actually put the ball in the back of the net is going to be a tough out.
$20,000 of jersey sales to The Center, a local LGBTQIA+ advocacy & support organization. Well done, Pride.
Yāall, Iām starting to worry Angel City will have a centered logo & crest on the new kit.
Iām Norwegian, so obvs Nazgul has been front-of-mind all day, & now Iām considering renaming one or more of our dogs, pending @lawgoat.bsky.social approval.
@nwslsoccer.com dropping kits so late really makes it challenging to get them ordered/shipped/arrived by opening day. So frustrating every year.
Comparably, Iāll have the new Arsenal kit in May, a full 3 mo before the WSL season starts.
This really shouldnāt be this hard.
Iāve probably listened to this at least once a day for the past 20 yrs.
"But they came here illegally!"
Hand to God, I don't care. Fuck ICE.
Tom Maher asked Sonia Bompastor about Alyssa Thompsonās performance, & she said it was good considering she played her on the left, which is an unfamiliar position, & she is used to playing on the right, & is probably more of a right wing back anyway, & this is why Chelsea shouldnāt have nice things
Doorsoun is an experienced pro & international player, & sheās defended v skilled players for a long time, & Manaka simply ate her up. This may be tough sledding for Angel City today.

75th min, Angel City is tied 1-1 at home against a team near the bottom of the table. They only have 3 available forwards, but a wingback is still playing forward, while Christen Press still languishes on the bench. Zero urgency. No ambition to actually win matches. Iām so tired.
Hinds & Nighswonger are causing all sorts of havoc on the left. Fitting that they both contributed to Arsenal's first goal.

Watching Christen Press, Alyssa Thompson, & SveindĆs Jónsdóttir all starting for Angel City
Unrelated obs: Evelyn Shores is v, v good. Also, I canāt help but ponder a Swiss-style 3-5-2 w/Shores & G Thompson at wing backs & A Thompson & SveindĆs Jónsdóttir up top . . .
ACFC-Wave post shot xG chart
Rewatched the Angel City match, & itās amazing how much more dynamic & fluid the attack looked after Press & Zelem entered in the 73rd & 68th min respectively. Both chance creation & xG went up.
Kinda surprised you havenāt done Pitch Perfect yet.
Good Afternoon, Los Angeles!
The NWSL is halfway through their summer break, and halfway through the season. While #AngelCityFC put in work for the road ahead, we take a look at the season up to this point in our midseason review!

Fair point. Not sure if that should make me feel better or worse as an ACFC supporter tho lol
Watching Norway defend feels exactly like watching Angel City defend.
Rakfisk. It's a traditional Norwegian dish of salted, fermented fish. Everyone always thinks of lutefisk, which to this day is a semi-common holiday dish for Norwegian-Americans. Rakfisk is similarly vile, but it inexplicably enjoys a better reputation.
