Book 3 of 2025
Call of the Bone Ships by RJ Barker.

This is book 2 of the Tide Child trilogy.
This is a really great continuation of the series, and it starts to ramp up the overarching storyline of the books.
I've already started book 3.
This is the special hard back by the broken binding.

DangryGames, Dragon Age Veilguard Review DangryGames gaming home page

I've completed Dragon Age The Vielguard recently and I wrote a small review about it, read it here: dangrygames.uk/Articles/Rev...
Overall thoughts: I enjoyed my time with the game.
DEI stuff is way overblown and out of 51 hrs playtime, DEI content is about 5 minutes.

Book 2 of 2024
Doom guy by John Romero.

As a programmer and someone that loves games, man this is some inspirational stuff.
Doom was his 19th commercial release.
Keep making and keep releasing games.
Even if you're not a programmer you should read this.

Because of the way I've programmed my enemy base class, I managed to create 4 new enemies today in about an hour and a half. Just small adjustments needed to new scripts or the scriptable objects holding the data for the class.
It really sped things up.

I can also say I loved it.

If a Gears of War collection or the Master Chief Collection is released on PS5 this year I am fucked for time. Also, I'll be getting them straight away as they're bloody great games.
Come on @xbox.com, do it.

Book 1 of 2025
Ken Liu

What a way to finish off an incredible series of fantasy books.
This series will stick with me for a while. I've got lots of thinking to do.

I've played about 24hrs of Dragon Age: the Veilguard. And I have some thoughts.
I'm really enjoying the game. The combat is fun with my build, rogue archer. I think the characters are solid, not mass effect level, but solid.
I'll have more thoughts as I get deeper. But I'm enjoying it right now.

I've been working on a simple code editor that works similarly to CodePen as an easy project piece. Was easier than I thought it was.
I added it to my new website: www.dangrygames.uk/Projects/edi...
Test it out and see what you can make. Or what I can add.

I hate to break it to you but we looked up guides. Whether that being calling the nintendo hotline or finding a paper guide somewhere. Also, we had more time to play in those days. Nothing else to do back then.

Banishers went on a bit too long but I really enjoyed it. Great story and your actions impact the ending you get, so I digged it.
Indiana jones, I was not expecting to be great. A Little bit like dishonored and prey. I've I don't think I fired my gun in indiana jones unless I was forced to.

I ended up reading 28 books and got halfway through book 29 before the end of 2024.
It also looks like a gave 16 out of 28 books 5 stars on good reads. I think I need to be more critical when giving ratings. Or you could say I read some really great books this year and I know what I like.

Indie devs. You should read Jake's post and follow as well. He gives some really honest and useful advice for making games as a small team.

I've never thought about logging the hours I actually work on my game. I should probably start doing that so I can see how I'm actually applying my time. Great advice as usual.

I completed and got the platinum for Horizon zero dawn remastered at the weekend. And I have to say it's still great.
Combat is awesome, story is good and interesting. Aloy is not as annoying as in the sequel.
I do recommend it for open world players who like combat.

Book 28 of 2024
The Veiled Throne by Ken Liu

This was a really good book in the series. I think I mostly enjoyed it because of the 200 odd pages dedicated to a master chef competition that happens in the book.
I am really looking forward to the final book.

Appeared for me

I've played 6 hours of Indiana Jones and the great circle on Series S, and I have to say, this game is great so far.
I'm loving the stealth gameplay, and in my whole time, I've not fired my gun once. The focus is on melee combat, which is different for machinegames games.

A quick look at some combat with the new tutorial system and weapon swapping.
I had to make it a GIF to fit the video in.

I plan to fix the most egregious bugs and issues but then move onto the next project.

I squashed 10 bugs today in my game and it felt good to get rid of them.
Now a playthrough is nearly ready. Just got to set up some more tutorials and we're nearly there.

I agree. Valve are masters at game making. It's a shame they don't make many these days.

Book 27 of 2024
The Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne.
This is a good ending to the Bloodsworn saga. While it is one of the most fast paced books I've ever read, I felt it was a very rushed final book in the series.
I still recommend it to complete the series.

Hi, I'm Dan and I'm a programmer.
I am looking for work and would love it if people could help spread the word or point me in the direction of any junior roles.
My experience is with C# but I will learn whatever is needed.
Have a nice day everyone.
