I accept there may be explanations why fuel in america has gone up to $1.51 Australian per litre while we pay $2.59, but we need to hear those explanations from the federal government. What do you think @chrisbowenmp.bsky.social and @albomp.bsky.social

The only question I have - why isn't Morrison in jail.

It's totally crazy that regional fuel distributors have been classified as spot buyers, this typical city head in the sand decision, has cut off fuel supplies to farmers. Yay, we'll have fuel at the city pumps, but nothing to eat. Time to get it right. @chrisbowenmp.bsky.social

Pity about the price gouging by the petroleum industry. This needs government intervention before already struggling Aussies and our transport companies go broke.

No, we just want a return of the car industry single handedly destroyed by Tony Abbott.

I hate the ghoulish way the media latches on to these tragedies. Seems like the ABC has had it on 24 hour reel.

Australia Institute research shows that a 25% tax on gas exports would increase supply and cut energy bills for Australians.

You better get behind Ed on this @albomp.bsky.social it's what we all expect from a Labor government.

I hope the party gets behind Ed, we want this gas bullshit sorted out. We're all sick of these multi billionaire corporations profiting at the expense of our country.

Same in SA, my last job was visiting homes repairing pc's. Elderly resident overjoyed that Uniting Care purchased the unit block where she lived. She exclaimed, rent went down, replaced worn out floor coverings and made small repairs the first time she asked. Why is gov housing in such bad way.

“The debt of gratitude Australians owe CSIRO for Aeroguard alone can never be repaid. Which is why it’s so alarming to watch its funding – and its people – bleed away,” writes Ebony Bennett, Deputy Director at The Australia Institute.

Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Some of the new models by Geely and Xpeng have long ranges and incredibly quick recharging times, the world is changing for this old petrol head - but I'm on board 😀

‘Pouring money into a trough’: Senior public servant blows whistle on allegedly ‘corrupt’ millions The Home Affairs assistant secretary claims money was spent on overinflated contracts or for services that were never provided.

🇦🇺 pays $1.5mil per person each year to detain people on Nauru.

During last Senate Estimates, I asked about links to organised crime and value for money, I was told there is no need for concern.

Now whistleblower evidence paints a very different picture.

Duopoly politicians delivering government services to Australians that are either outright criminal on an industrial scale as in Centrelink's Robodebt, or punitive in their delivery and lack a duty of care

Outsourcing any government function is a betrayal of citizens and a function of ideology

It is unusual for this department head to be so public, I'm also aware of major changes (preparations?) at the military base not far from me. Are they actually preparing for something or justifying their enormous budgets? I doubt we will know unless the proverbial hits the fan.

Advance, NewsCorp, Nine radio etc - are all going after any Lib member who supports net zero - on behalf of their fossil fuel backers and donors.

It’s as straight forward as that. #auspol

Since the mid 1990s, Norway has imposed a 56 per cent "special tax" for oil and gas companies, alongside a 22 per cent corporate tax rate.

Australia could learn a lesson from this and make companies pay their fair share for our natural resources.
