Thank you!!
Thank you!!
I got engaged yesterday and we celebrated by going to a showing of Bridesmaids and honestly, perfect proposal.
sipping coffee on a sunny Saturday afternoon, working on a crossword, with SVU playing in the background. 100% not the first in my bloodline to do this.
Meme of a man boldly standing up to share his opinion
I don't think it's ethical to build a majority government through floor crossings and I think democracy works better when we have minority governments with opposition MPs working together to best reflect the interests of Canadians who voted them in and scrutinizing legislation
I also used my crockpot today. I’ve peaked.
I don’t have an exact breakdown but each meal I batch cooked and froze comes to under $2/serving and are high protein meals with lots
of veggies & fibre, etc.
hello my name is Sam, I’m 34, and I just discovered the absolute fucking wonder souper cube freezing trays and a vacuum sealer are. I just froze so much chilli and soup in perfect 2 cup blocks. 10/10.
just saw the biggest rat of my life running across the fence in my yard. we scared each other and he fell off the fence and literally made a heavy thud on the ground. at first I thought it was a cat. immediately closed all my windows.
ew, no. ai has made my job worse, actually.
someone needs to study the phenomenon of people pathologically being contrary in replies to innocuous posts. bean soup theory I suppose.
hate to report that working out does indeed help you feel better. i wish i had better news to share.
I'm not ragging on participants, I think people show up with the best they can and from my point of view that's a better place to start than not starting at all but I just wish people would reflect on their expectations. I am a facilitator, not an oracle.
sometimes I literally want to scream and be like hi yes hello colonization wasn't practical, decolonization will also... not be practical. thank you for attending our session, please sign up for the newsletter LOL
Oh for sure! I've definitely noticed it pre: AI too. I've just noticed it becoming more prominent and I'm curious if there's a correlation, because asking me in a session "how do I decolonize my course" is going to be met with many more questions as opposed to a like a point form list.
I'm not trying to ring the alarm or even point out that this is based in any sort of fact, it's purely from my own, personal observations.
I've noticed that there's an increase in participants not wanting to engage in discussion based sessions and wanting just a pop in a question and get a response type situation, and while I do love a good Q&A it's not exactly a great teaching method, haha.
and I get it, a lot of the discussion points can feel esoteric and as a facilitator, I am generally asking a lot from audiences who are just dipping a toe in; but there's a part of my brain that wonders if this is the impact of AI in adult centred learning spaces.
in my professional life I regularly facilitate groups wanting to learn more about decolonizing their teaching practices. In the last year I've run into more and more people with the expectation that I will not only provide the "answer" but also a roadmap to get there.
side note: don't goto truth social but I did quickly just to fact check myself and oh my god the ads. the pop up ads everything. the ads in-between his incoherent ramblings. pop up on every "expand post" link. I've never seen such a succinct allegory for his reign.
just incase anyone else is feeling a bit disassociated today and needs the reminder:
- it's really fucking weird and vile for the president of the United States to make announcements about (genocidal) war plans on his personally owned social media site; it's not normal, it's horrifically cruel.
I mean like come on
* quick as in all the work took like 15 minutes and then it was just letting it rise and then baking
I made bread to have with dinner and it was so easy and quick* that Im actually confused how it’s like $37574920 at the grocery store.
he is risen, but it’s just me on the first warm sunny day.
I genuinely wish that the information about nutrition and health wasn't so steeped in racism and fatphobia, because I'm a full 34 year old adult and I'm learning shit that would have radically changed my life when I was young.
microdosing Hamnet because I already cried too much at that hawk and I KNOW what's coming next.
