Trump is by far the lowest IQ president ever.

Modern comedians believe they have to swear to keep up with the Jonses. Swearing isn't funny and doesn't add anything to the joke and it's shock value has long since gone. I prefer comedians who are funny without swearing.

I believe that after a trouncing at the local elections Labour might realise it has nothing to lose and much to gain by advocating rejoining the EU. If not, the Greens will hover up all the pro EU votes.

Economic questions: the Richard Murphy question This is one of a series of posts that will ask what the most pertinent question raised by a prominent influencer of political economy might have been, and what the relevance of that question might be ...

'... the problem is not that we cannot afford a better society, but that we have chosen not to create one.'

So from bad to worse then.

Labour where bought off during the Blair years and became Tory lite. It was a case of, if you can't beat them, join them. We must get big money out of politics or we will never have true democracy.

Palantir should be removed from the UK government and all public bodies, fullstop.

Farage backed Mandelson’s appointment, called him a “very intelligent man”,“enormously talented bloke,” and even offered to work with him on a Trump trade deal. The moment it backfired, he changed his tune & said Starmer should resign. He is a charlatan.

Badenoch is crowing about the Starmer Mandelson debacle. However, she was laid back about Johnson's lawbreaking during covid, and during I doubt she would pass developed vetting given her history of lawbreaking, towit, phone hacking.

Starmer's position is untenable. A control freak like him would want to know everything regarding such a high profile appointment. Trying to pretend otherwise by throwing people under a bus is as unedifying as Johnson pretending partygate didn't happen.

Regardless of anything else, Starmer should go due to allowing Palantir free reign to begin taking control of everybody's lives.

Politicians as a whole probably have a higher percentage of hypocrites than any other group of people, but the Tories and Reform take hypocrisy to a whole new stratospheric level.

Thatcher sold off Britain's family silver to her rich donors and friends and Labour under Blair did nothing to reverse the damage. In fact they increased the private sector in the NHS, expanded the disastrous PFI scheme and continued forcing councils to sell off council homes.

At one time most media outlets just reported the news in a more or less unbiased manner. Now you would be hard pushed to find any that do so. Even the BBC which most people viewed as a trustworthy news source has turned into a full-on mouthpiece for one particular political party.

So a Restore government wouldn't bother with law and order and legal trials, they would just lock people up. In other words a fascist dictatorship.

How quickly we forget. The liar boris Johnson was promoted to Foreign Secretary by Theresa May having failed the vetting process.

Labour didn't help themselves by backsliding on implementing Leveson 2 to try to ingratiate themselves with the right-wing media.

I find it unfathomable that rich old men near the end of their privileged lives still want to accrue even more wealth.

Why hasn't Labour done something about getting rid of the Tory stuffed BBC board and setting up an independent panel to oversee future BBC board appointments.

He misled led the public with his 10 pre-election pledges all of which have either been broken or not delivered.

They won't of course. There seems to be an establishment consensus led by the BBC, that Reform are a special case and must never be fully investigated about anything dodgy.

Absolutely! In any other walk of life it would be called out for what it is; bribery.

Yes indeed. You only have to look at how the BBC has platformed Farage on QT versus politicians from the other parties even when he wasn't an MP and his party had no MP's.

Please do not embarrass Farage by reposting his 'Happy Birthday Mr President' tweet. Be careful not to draw attention to the fact that he's holding a bottle of Trump wine, it would make him look like a fawning sycophant, and we wouldn't want to do that ... would we?

get to share in the firms success. It seems that when firms post huge profits the CEO's pay goes up, but when profits fall the CEO's pay doesn't, but they will cut workers pay or sack loads of them instead. Even when CEO's are sacked or forced out they get massive payouts. Isn't capitalism great.
