This correctly pegged me as being from Northern Virginia. I have no idea how. I have a weird accent (family from New England and Canada, grew up in Virginia) but figured my dialect was pretty generic.
Some old school “Natinals” incompetence today as the scoreboard and entire scoring system is down in the stadium. No indication of score, count, outs, etc.

The US team specifically reminds me of a less dramatically awful version of US Ryder Cup teams. They don’t look all that together as a group, none of this seems very fun, and they all look deeply uncomfortable out of their respective MLB/PGA comfort zones.
I just hope MLB can find a way to keep the WBC after whatever labor armageddon happens.
This tournament is great. It falls at the perfect time (post-football, pre-March Madness) and playing so much of it in South Florida is perfect.
