a little different, but the west memphis 3 entered an Alford plea to finally get out. Echols really didn't want to leave without being declared innocent but all 3 had such declining health and had been in so long they ultimately all took the plea.

Hmmmmmm. Inconvenience. That word. You connect it more to streaming and modern apps than physical media? Interesting.

There’s Buddy, There’s Waylon, and There’s Flatland Cavalry With a fifth album, ‘Work of Heart,’ out today, the band from Lubbock looks ready to level up.

Here's my latest for @texasmonthly.bsky.social. I had a good time hanging out with Flatland Cavalry out in Lubbock.

I feel like the folks making these plans should read about what happened when Carter tried to extract the hostages.

For sure. By the same token, I'm not not going in the 10 item line if I have eight distinct items and six jalapenos (I realize these are by weight so we're not scanning, but I think the logic holds).

Also, I can scan real fast. I think that counts for something too. I'm not clogging up the line.

We went to celebrate job promotions.

I don't have as long a history as @mikehalltexas.bsky.social with Vespaio, but it's the first place I ever ate in Austin. I met Scott Blackwood there the night before I interviewed at Texas Monthly.

Amy and I liked to go there for special occasions--we went the night I defended my PhD
