That makes sense - The Showa era has such a cool design aesthetic. I especially like the handwritten kanji typography on products, but the faded coloring on old packaging is a close second. Losing oneself in Tekkonkinkreet's backgrounds really helped breath life into Takaramachi!
Kimura's red/blue choices are so solid. The only other place I see that combo is Nicolas De Crecy's Celestial Bibendum - it's such a perfect combo!

Arc Raiders timelapse - the core layout to this one came together easily enough, but finding that balance took a bit. Thanks to Alexander Iaccarino for lending me his eyes! Somehow I'm still hooked on this game.
Sometimes I hit a wall and I just riff on fun shapes to get something on the page. I've been having fun drawing animals a lot more lately!
As promised, getting this up before the freeze here in Texas! The art direction on Arc Raiders is so peak. There's so many details that lend themselves to making each raid a unique adventure. S tier, would love to stop being addicted to it.

I've been hooked on Arc Raiders for the last month and change. Alexander Iaccarino recommended it and the downright addictive mix of tight controls, loot, upgrades, and formidable enemies makes it a blast to play. The layout below will make more sense in color (which I'll post tomorrow, promise!)

This was a super fun project-my friend Tyler had a birthday party where everyone tufted rugs, and I got a little ambitious and tried to translate a Terada Katsuya sketch from a Giant Robot Exhibition years ago. He’s currently putting on an exhibition, so check it out if you’re in LA!
Pencil sketch from earlier in the year - I used to doodle all the time, but have fewer and fewer opportunities to do so, so I've left paper out around my house to scratch at from time to time. Might bring this to a show to sell someday!

Absolute Batman has a delightfully unhinged design sense that I've been dying to play with. Did this awhile back, and sneaking it up right under the wire for the New Year - if people dig it I'll make posters!
Double posting tonight because I've got so much to catch up on - distressed mechs are my jam - no wrong answers, just pure engineering and play! Building Gundams has given me a lot of inspiration to digest. Not sure if I'll use these for something someday, but I want to keep building on this series.
