4/4 If you have read the author’s other works, it may clear up some of the initial confusion I had given this was my entry point.

All in all though, this was a heck of a ride!

3/4 I also found the heat in this one to be a bit middle of the road, more vanilla folks may find it raunchy while other monster lovers may find it light. Either way, I greatly enjoyed the body and survival horror elements and some of the more trippy moments.

2/4The FMC’s struggles with herself and healing I found very relatable, and that conflict will keep you engaged to read through the very end. The MMC wasn’t my cup of tea, but his later interpersonal conflict was interesting to follow and see the resolution of.

1/4 A big thank you to @ksparrowauthor for including me in their ARC team for their new novel “Eat Me Alive!” This one took me some time to process and digest after devouring it, but I can safely say: I enjoyed this book.

The manifestations of Xiaoyu’s struggles with her trauma and eating disorder in her dreams are extremely memorable and will stick with you as she goes on her journey to Esoterra, finds love, and comes to peace with who she is and the healing that comes with overcoming adversity and cutting off toxic ties. I do wish we had more time showcasing her in depth knowledge of botany, and how brilliant she is. but OVERALL, I enjoyed her as a character given the rapid changes that happen throughout the story and moments of ferocious feminine rage. The plot narrative and pacing are a bit confusing and disorienting once reaching the 1/3 mark, as it starts to read as a fever dream. I recommend paying close attention to the trigger and content list at the beginning of the novel to combat this though, and if you stick with it, you will find the ending of the book wraps up rather neatly. If you’re looking for a new twist and an introduction to the monster romance world, this isn’t a bad place to start.

Thing I love about volunteering at the cat shelter is these little beans who both want attention and constant play.

And with how things are going staffing wise- even more likely the people handling it will be traumatized or terribly new and untrained.

Maggie and Kingmaker have become excellent partners since stabilized by the Triangle Agency.

While not the most battle proficient, leaving that to their gun and growth resonants, they’ve shown competency in climbing the ranks and preventing loose ends.
