Some of the hollows could have done with a bit more glaze, but it’s a bit hard to tell as you’re doing it, since it’s all red coloured

Good question! It’s a blue glaze which comes out brown when applied thinly. So I painted a thin coat all over, then applied it thickly in the hollows so that the blue would show there.
