I get more compliments on my Blake Babies t-shirt when I'm out in Greenfield than I do for another other band shirt.
Wong's swing seems to be back. Will we see more of a 50-50 split between him and Narvaez?
Happy Iva Day!

Almost got there in 1985. Blame the Royals.
Farley Granger in Strangers partly because he looked like pictures of my father when he was young.
Interleague. Never real rivals.
Sheldon was one the first people to reach out to me and offer support as I took the leap from Fictionaut to put my writing out in the world. His stories featured soulful characters figuring their way. Founded A-Minor, a journal that's still going, I believe. I'm saddened by his passing.
Also, "woke" in the now-common white supremacist appropriated vernacular just means "I'm a bigoted and/or complacent piece of shit, and every reminder of the vastness of human diversity—up to and including simple basic acts of human decency—confront me with my moral failing, causing me to lash out."
I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."

I posted about @korystamper.bsky.social's book on LinkedIn at the same time and since then I have seen nothing but posts in the Al Gore Rhythm by color-marketing professionals. It's been going on nearly two weeks.
You’re thinking of the Penuchin monks, maybe?
Looks good. I was bored on Wikipedia and thought "Bad Axe" was a pretty striking name for a town.
I seriously wondered if it was some odd temporary New England thing that fell out of use or if I was imagining it. Because I know I've been in a few hundred candy aisles and fudge shops in the meantime and not run into it again.
Pocket friends, I have a slightly cringe request:
If you read my second dumb book (True Color! Out now! Vitamins added!) and liked it, would you consider leaving a review for it at some bookseller's website? Reviews matter to my publisher; the algorithm recommends books based on them. 1/2
H. made a donut cake with penuche frosting, which made me think I have somehow have never encountered the word 'penuche' between the time I had to sell fudge in elementary school for a fundraiser and yesterday.

As a North Shore of Mass. native, my accent returns whenever I a) drive east of Rte 128; b) talk to my cousins; or c) listen to sports talk radio.
Police caught the suspects yellow-clawed.
Just wondering how it reconciles with the idea of faith to have to turn to a trained, ersatz, malleable iteration of your deity to ensure your behavior feels rewarded.
"Magataotao" on Twitter writes: "I am Catholic. This👇is not my Pope." Attached is a video of the Pope saying that we should search for peace and reject war. A community note under their tweet says: "You are not a Catholic if you do not accept the Pope, but rather a schismatic. Canon 751: “Schism is the refusal of submission to the Supreme Pontiff,” ie. the Pope. https://www.vatican.va/archive/cod-iuris-canonici/eng/documents/cic_lib3-cann747-755_en.html"
first in my bloodline to see someone get excommunicated by a community note
Same reason the person who invented the scoop-shaped corn chip should win a Nobel Prize.
