I know a lot of people from outside the UK who follow @pinknews.bsky.social to try to stay on top of UK development - friends, can you help spread the word? Boycott now - stop following them, remove them from your press lists, never click through to their website. Disgusting betrayal.
Overall, though, I think Chibs does gritty adult drama pretty well, but I don't think he's a kids/family writer, and I think that's where it fell apart. It lacked gusto and confidence. I didn't fully believe in his vision, even though on paper I quite liked it.I just don't think he's that good at DW
Akinola's subtle ambience was a refreshing treat after Murray Golds a-brick-in-the-face-is-too-subtle HERE ARE THE EMOTIONS YOU SHOULD BE FEELING IDIOTS bullshit. Timeless Child I'm relatively unopinionated about. Didn't think it was necessary, but I like looms, we all have a deep lore dirty secret.
Jodie is fucking brilliant, I love her, she gave her all, she kept me watching when I wasn't engaged with the story. Bradley Walsh was a revelation - who'd have thought he'd have such range? Demons of the Punjab made me cry. The weird dimension in Spyfall was tremendous.
The TARDIS didn't feel cosy, the companions didn't feel massively developed, the messaging lacked nuance, the politics veered dangerously centrist, the exposition... well, that's been over-discussed. But my overall takeaway was shrug. I never cringed like the worst RTD and Moffat moments, but... eh.
I love the ideas. I fully approve of Chibnall's back-to-basics educational approach, the lack of any arc or big finale in 11, the shift away from saccharine, sentimental storylines and general reverance for the classic series. But the result just felt distant and austere to me.
Do you live near a hospital?
Jack And Erlands?
I have literally no idea what emo-trance-shoegaze sounds like btw but I like the idea.
Thinking of retooling Enofa into an emo-trance-shoegaze project at this point. Who’s buying me a Jaguar? Only need be a Squier VM.
Crikey it’s a good week for ‘Internet Music’.
Hey everyone look at THIS. How did THIS happen. Let’s celebrate! If anyone ever deserved this kind of exposure it’s this kind and wonderful and stupendously dedicated gxrl!
Also this now means I’ve done a split tape with a Warp artist wtf 🤣
This is the courtyard outside The Cursed Child in the West End covered in protest chalk for Trans Day of Visibility. Well done, London. Well done.

A couple of years ago I worked on some weird trance-inspired tracks It's my favourite thing I've ever done. Nobody wanted to release it, though, so I've put it on my Bandcamp for free.
Help a girl out and share this if you get chance. I'd love people to hear it!

All in all, three stories that sum up the 51-100 era well: very varied in quality, with some of the earlier brilliance still very much evident, but also that niggling feeling that the well of top-drawer stories was beginning to run dry.
Scaredy Cat... this was meant to be a Divergent one originally, wasn't it? They were probably better off out of that, then. Just a bit of a non-event, really, right down to the pointless use of 2CDs to try and hide the rather sad fact that it fits comfortably on one.
LIVE 34 - one of the best. Brilliant story, horribly well realised dystopian world, top notch use of the radio format, and a chessmaster Seven who isn't just a cunt.
Singularity - I listened to this last week and don't remember anything about it. Ok, just read up again, yeah it was alright. *shrug*
My tapes are currently about 120 miles away.
Lots of CDs and vinyl records
Lots more vinyl records
Loads more vinyl records
Even more!
Some stuff I’ve collected over the years.
Doctor Who: Blood Heat. ie the one where the '70s UNIT lot are living in a Silurian occupied 1993, and nobody says or does anything fun or pleasant in the process. Contains the highest body count of any Doctor Who story, all on the Doctor's hands.

We studied Wuthering Heights in year 9 English. I keep thinking that it's not an entirely appropriate book for 13-14 year olds. Partially because none of us could understand a fucking word of it.
Why can’t sweet potatoes crisp up evenly? Sour potatoes manage it fine, but sweet potato fries, you open the oven, some are nicely done, others are limp and soggy, one in the corner is completely burnt through. Terrible design.
Verifying took 45 minutes 😨
Google Map marking a place called "Bockagh".

I remember the good old days when everything I released alienated everybody who liked the previous record.
A list of currently unreleased Enofa tracks in iTunes, with the titles: 'Cone is Creepy', 'May, Skyship, etc.', 'Fucked Myself in the Foot', 'Now Who's the Basic Bitch?', 'Estradiol Milkshake', 'Henoids', 'Just Because it Looks Like Flesh Doesn't Mean You Should Kiss It', 'Hello? In case anybody is wondering where my limited energy goes, it's 100% into coming up with song titles like these.
Imagine the stylistic polar opposite of 'Clouds in the Shape of Clouds' and you're close. 🤣
