War is not good for the climate, which is why I struggle with the war rhetoric directed against Russia by so many in the 'green' movement. There seems to be little sense of an anti-war sentiment amongst them, instead I see a willing embrace of state war propaganda.

Belgium just seized 2 British military shipments bound for Israel. At Liège Airport. 33 crates. Military components including lasers, sights, fire control systems, aircraft parts.
The cargo arrived by truck from the UK. It was supposed to fly to Tel Aviv.

Keir Starmer shocked and appalled to find he is actually prime minister, we can reveal, after aides went to great lengths to keep true reason for July 2024 house move from him.

definitely corrupt, some god awful anti Corbyn, pro Israel stink about it all.

There's a stinking nasty story behind all this I am sure, about why Starmer was so intent on having Mandelson in that role.

Three Principles of Ecosocialist Politics Cast your memory back to September 2019. Six million people took action globally in a week-long wave of climate protests. From Angola, to Cuba, Germany,

1. Ecosocialism is a Revolutionary Politics, so act as if the Revolution has Already Begun
2. Never Separate Environmentalism from Social Issues
3. Anti-Imperialism is Not an Optional Extra

This is one of the worst things I have ever read and I study frontier genocide as a profession.

Tempted, but fear I would only understand about 10% of it. Also, a little bit of me wonders about the "XXXX. How XXXX made the modern world" books, I've read a lot of them.

I thoroughly enjoyed “Trillions”, so I'll be definitely buying this one too.

The repoliticised subject of the 2020s - passionately engaged, perpetually outraged, yet incapable of transformation - isn’t evidence that post-politics is over. It’s evidence that post-politics continues under new subjective conditions.

My review of Anton Jäger’s Hyperpolitics is now out in EJST.

"Engagement is everywhere. Transformation is nowhere." Excellent

Israel abolished the death penalty for ordinary crimes in 1954.

Today they voted to bring it back — exclusively for Palestinians.

Look through history to see the relentless aggression of the west towards Russia. Any blindness to that can only be wilful, a product of motivated reasoning.

well if that's where you live then you must be a trustworthy provider of objective analysis and information

See, this is where my current support for the Green Party wavers. This sucks. What "threats" are we facing? Energy shortages, food insecurity, skyrocketing prices - all things caused by our own militarism.

The idea that we "need to prepare to defend Europe" is just Yellow Peril shit.

Yep. I was kind of wondering how long it would take. Certainly not joining the Green Party whilst this NATO fetish continues.

The West has been slaughtering people in the Middle East for a long time prior to the release of the Epstein files. If you wanted to distract people just give them lots of money.

Climate change progressives - they spend half their time lamenting the destruction of the world via climate change, the other half agitating for the destruction of the world via WWIII with Russia. Go figure, cos I can't make sense of it.

Does freeing ourselves of dependence on fossil fuels make it easier for us to bomb the middle east, because they won't have that stranglehold over the west? Or do heat pumps also bring about a geopolitical change and an end to western imperialism?

My feed on X is full of searing criticism of western imperialism and liberal hypocrisy. What's not to like ? I don't find that on any other social media site.

And all within capitalism are culpable - do you think Bluesky runs on air and love?

Maybe it was something of a house of cards to disappear so quickly. I fear returning to the misguided assumptions and anaemic goals of previous climate campaigns. We need to be braver, more radical - populate the campaign with people who have less to lose from overturning this political system.

Also, completely enraging.

Is the US/Israel axis losing in Iran? The more Trump says 'we won' the more I think they lost. Will markets and capital lose their patience soon?
