I dunno… hauling people to El Salvador without due process, teasing a third term despite the 22nd Amendment, and calling for the impeachment of judges because you don’t like their rulings do not seem like uses of legitimate presidential power.

First, the Court has pretty high support across the board. But second, Republicans agreed with the statement more than Democrats and, notably, Trump voters agreed with the statement more than non-Trump voters. Both of these differences are statistically significant (p<0.01).

The citizenship clause was added to the 14th Amendment in the Senate in 1866. Senator Jacob Howard introduced the final version and shepherded it to passage. Here's Eric Foner's "Second Founding: The Second Founding: How the Civil War and Reconstruction Remade the Constitution." (2019)
The citizenship clause was put in the 14th Amend to specifically overturn the Dred Scott decision (1857), which claimed that Black Americans were not citizens. Congress still could have put some restrictions on it. But they choose not to. They choose to establish universal birthright citizenship.
