@stonewalluk.bsky.social have been a failure for years. They have done little, but accelerate assimilation via respectability politics. It has done so at the expense of other cohorts.
Its strange watching a human rights organisation decide some humans rights just don't count.

I wrote a new article about being a lesbian, about gender, and what those can and have meant. Itโs free and it would mean a lot of if you read it and gave your thoughts :)
As an ADHD former academic (with several other disabilities).
You don't speak for me. You don't speak for my needs. You don't speak to anything I have ever wanted or that would have been anything but a harm to me.
I am so glad I quit academia before AI pushers turned upm
(Not in my name).
If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards....
Checkmate.
That one is spectacular!
Now you're just insulting assholes.... Even assholes are good for something... I'm not sure I could say that about Keir...
Handy Guide:
โ
Free Speech: When GCs who had no relation to my University complained to try and get me kicked off my course
โ Not Free Speech: Exercising one's right to peaceful protest against those advocating your exclusion from society โ on the campus you have to live and work in
We like you being you too!
It can be, a peaceful place to be. :)
Fuck. AI currently don't even understand what has been said, they don't get temporality. The responses exist in a probabilistic possibility cloud of outputs. With probability weighted, and possibility constrained by both the algorithms employed and the distortions imposed on/by source material.
AI is not a neutral player. It wants our data, driven by engagement, all while acting as cheerleader for the user. It's not intelligent in the way people think. Constructing coherent sentences from a statistical probability matrix of valid terms shaped by how they are used in public interactions.
Just as fascists have adopted the mantle of feminism in order to find a group of women to destroy, so too they have found that the language of equality is a useful way to entrench an unequal society.
The root problem is I think that our leaders are unbothered, as inequality does not affect them.
Chaya Raichik is a terrorist and only enjoys the taste of freedom (prior to Trump getting back in office anyway) is that the law still doesn't see the internet as real life
Alright. You don't even have to go digging through 22 skeets to get my full rebuttal to Palantir & Alex Karp's demented manifesto.
You can just read it on an old fashioned webbed page.
There is indeed a special kind of hmmm.... "power?" Being on a teenage tantrum, with all the power and depth of a 44 year old with the requisite accumulated experience, cynicism, and sweary vocabulary. That... can be an incredibly devastating combination that is also visible from orbit. 2/2
I underwent transition at 44, and it truly is a second puberty and brought the fun of temper tantrums and everything else that goes with that. :) I am also AuDHD with a history of cPTSD among other issues. I still feel there are things that I can't put aside, because we never experienced them. 1/2
there's also the awesome @transsafety.network. you can donate to them here: ko-fi.com/transsafetyn...
@stonewalluk.bsky.social, effectively stopped functioning as a defender of human rights, and principally acts as a well resourced capitulation engine.
There are other community groups who are more worthy of your time and money. Including
@transactualuk.bsky.social
@goodlawproject.org
Each new chair of Stonewall seems further out of step with the times to the point where it has been effectively transphobic for several years now
But praising Rowling in this way is a new low, an actual gut punch
Just the thought of that. The shock of that I might have to rapidly pull the headset off and tell them to never do it again, only to have them promise to do exactly that again. Then fall into someone's arms and be shaky, vulnerable, and held.
Sorry.. uh... yes, Alien Isolation; c'est magnifique!
Alien Isolation really captured the feel so well, lo-res CRT's everywhere, the claustrophobia! Such a great game. We really want to play the VR hack version of it! Staring into the eggs. Just to mess with us more, have a partner sneak up and cover our mouth/nose during a facehugger moment! 1/2
I think Half-Life, Half-Life 2 and in particular Ravenholm "We don't go there anymore"
Since then I think Alien Isolation has done a great job of capturing that feeling of crawling around environments with care, and of course the first Dead Space which is delightful in its sheer grit..
No reposting of images without alt text, I don't make the rules sorry

I definitely need more popcorn...
You are looking beautiful! ๐ฉท
Shall we ask Wes Streeting, if it looks like Trans people are being treated with dignity and respect yet? Does he have a timeline on that?
Transphobes chanting transphobia at me in Aberdeen. Such lovely singing /s
Bullshit.
Keir is Prime Minister.
He KNOWS Madelson has a scandalous history and appointed him anyway. If the known scandals didn't matter, vetting that expands on what is already known, likely didn't either.
All Keir is achieving now in passing the buck is demonstrate his spineless incompetence.
An image of a woman "sitting" in a chair, and sitting is being charitable. The image has three text boxes that read as follows;- "Bisexual culture is not being able to sit in chairs correctly without looking like you're giving birth" "Why can't bisexual just sit normally why are we all like this" "that whole thing about bis not being able to sit in chairs properly is embarrassingly true" The chair is sitting in the middle of the room, and the woman is sitting across it with her back resting on the left arm of the chair and her crossed legs, draped over the right one. She is holding her left arm out and smiling. while clearly demonstrating that bi people really don't know how chairs work. The chair she is sitting on is a comfortable looking, dark leather, single seater, with dark wooden legs.
It's the Bi's and chairs thing isn't it?
As a Bi, I take chairs as objects that apparently offer a subtle hint as to their function... But really...
They are mysterious objects that need further analysis!
It looks great on you! It's a fantastic find! <3
