I bought three Vintage Penguins from Waterstones in Leeds, lovely things to own - and these are all @backlisted.bsky.social picks. Additional photo from the other place.

Just finished this The Horse’s Mouth by Joyce Cary, a book I would never have heard of without @backlisted.bsky.social. I listened to the episode again (+Max Porter) when I was about halfway through. A quite brilliant read - the language, the humour and the character that is Gulley Jimson.

Happy New Year GC

How about “Monday Morning 5.19” by Rialto. A wonderful song with slightly depressing connotations 😀

Or “Sweet Thursday” by Icicle Works, hidden gem of an album track.

My reading these days is 50% Backlisted inspired - the books themselves or a recommendation on Locklisted.

Coincidentally this came to the top of the pile two weeks ago. A quite wonderful read!

And as it turned out, I finished it 10 years to the day after the first show. @backlisted.bsky.social

Did a search on the Franks and found your feed, been laughing my head off!

(I’ve seen them a few times, my Christmas treat this year is a weekend in Cork for their annual homecoming gig)

Caught up the Shelagh Delaney episode of @backlisted.bsky.social today - a wonderful listen (still getting over the ITV interview 😮)

This podcast is consistently excellent - warmth and wisdom and such breadth.

The accompanying Locklisted pod (via Patreon) is a bi-weekly treat. Thank you 🙏

Just ordered this album by Pete Astor, I saw The Loft earlier this year at a fantastic gig in Manchester.

And this has an excellent review by Sharon O’Connell in this month’s Uncut magazine

I think this is the first time I’ve done this, purchased this morning from Waterstones Stockport, started reading on the same day (or weekend) as the episode.

Well this is a bit depressing.
It’s getting harder and harder to make a living and it worries me.
Please have a look and repost.
