Taking action to strengthen your community is always a political action, and one we can all be involved in. Whether it’s putting together a food co-op, defending your neighbours from ICE (yes, we’ve got them in the UK too), or organising child care on your street, we can all do our bit!

Happy Fat Cat Tuesday! What an indictment of the system that a tiny group of CEOs can make everything most of us make in a year by Jan 6 - seems like a good time to start building bottom up, community led alternatives doesn’t it?

Do you think that 'hard work' is enough to beat the rich at their own game? You can try if you like, but we say that organising in your community and building power from the bottom up is *always* a better choice.

A Participatory Economy: a post-capitalist model
A Participatory Economy: a post-capitalist model YouTube video by Participatory Economy Project

There are viable alternatives to capitalism. Cooperative and participatory economics emphasize democratic decision-making, self-management, and social ownership for the common good. The profit motive is left behind in favor of a society where wealth is shared and no one is left behind.

Kneecap's Mo Chara is the latest example of how terrorism arrests no longer bear any relationship whatsoever to any actual threat to the British public (and certainly not the audience at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town). Instead they've become the end product of contrived rightwing outrage

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Non-binary people are non-binary. This is not up for debate.

We can argue that a biological definition of sex is lazy and unscientific, that the idea itself is rooted in racist, sexist, eugenicist ideas, that it’s harmful to any woman who isn’t sufficiently ‘feminine’ enough - but the fact remains that we support trans people. (4/5)
