So many men not just black men don’t take mental health seriously until they’re faced with the aftermath of years of their poor decisions. Do not be that 50 year old man who finally decides to go therapy and rebuild when he has nothing left.

Black men need to decenter patriarchy in order to fully embark on their mental health journey. Vulnerability and accountability are the antithesis of patriarchy, and you won’t be able to progress emotionally if you’re not able to be 1) soft and 2) look at that man in the mirror.
