Year of the horse is just started but my hides for the horse are almost done, six left. Thanks for the memories and stories. From Cisero, Doc, Texas Babe, and me. #monkeyshines2026
I've often thought about this with photographs, art, keepsakes & heirlooms. That meaning is assigned through very personal, emotional, or cultural connections. An object or a photo doesn't mean much without the narrative behind it.
My supervisor found a port orb last week near our work and today she surprised me with it because she is generous and knew how much I would love it. I have not hugged someone so hard in quite some time. I am blessed to work with amazing people and am truly humbled.
This seems fitting. #monkeyshines2026
5 am wakeup call, in a nook.
Haha, that's a little better than my hints this year. ๐คฃ
Hides started going out a bit more today. Clues you say? Look a tree... Look some concrete... over there you might find one on a pole. ๐๐๐ Be safe, be kind, have fun.
Running around a lot today. These were the keepers today. Be on the lookout some of my hides are in new spots. ๐คฃ
I left the smaller print because the big one would have been way to noticable. ๐คฃ
@katfrankly.bsky.social this was a surprise. We left a derpy horse in it's spot.
They look great. Very fun and unique make for the year.
The Italian Stallion makes me laugh.
Second print for the season because I think it's funny. Little bit of cleanup and then I'll have a few of these to hide as well. The song he's based off is dated and not very PG so you've been warned. ๐คฃ
I forgot to put my email in when I sent the donation, lol. Here is the letter.
Fundraiser totals are in for the year of the horse lino! $600 for Monkeyshines GoFundMe and $425 for Save A Forgotten Equine - SAFE. Thanks for taking a chance and supporting this idea.
Should be close to having a grand total for the fundraiser by the end of this week. Looks like we will have raised over $400 for the Monkeyshine GoFundMe and the horse rescue will get over $300.
Spreadsheet formulas are a go and at a glance it's overwhelming. Thank you for contributing to the fundraiser idea. All the numbers are not in but honestly we will be raising more then I expected. Can't wait to share the end results for the Monkeyshines go fund me and Save A Forgotten Equine rescue.
Already not going as plan, lol. This new ink is dark! But it does have an interesting metallic purple hue to it.
Starting the variant edition, black and violet.
I do think clues helped me learn different areas of Tacoma, even months later. I'm like oh, that's where that was, lol.
I'm likely going back to serindipidous print hides for this year. I might drop a test print hint or two. Prints are hard to hide well enough to make a clue hunt challenging. Half the time they get picked up within 1-15 minutes of dropping. ๐
Time is slowly ticking away. I'm glad I'll be done with all the prep stuff early this year.
Next week I'll start the hide edition.
Drat, I feel this one. That's like when I cave something and then I print it and go F*** the N is backwards. ๐ฅด
All claimed
Last one.
The black edition is the one for hiding. There will be 100 of the black ones.
Fundraiser prints are almost spoken for. The red colorway is $25 or more. 50% will be going to the Monkeyshine GoFundMe and at least 30% going to Save a Forgotten Equine. 100% of any donation past $25 will be split even between the two organizations. Proof of donation will be provided.
I had 3 ideas. Western, I thought the word grit could play off some kind of cowboy theme. Then another idea was a carousel horse, since there was one in my hometown I remember fondly. In the end I decided the season feels a bit unexpected and carnival/circus like and it had fun textures to explore.
