Is this pair purely a fluke? I would be u surprised if this pair had a >0 but lower than ordinary probability of co-occurrence - there could be some amount of seeding for # of lands per pack.

I like that Air Force jets “scramble”. Other parts of the military should get fun verbs
Isn’t the Trump administration’s memo requiring Bitcoin to be accepted as assets for mortgage applications an example of this?

Do that bizarre thing that Blind users do where they attach their Total Compensation to every post, regardless of topic.
Honestly, no one should complain about being blocked by anyone, regardless of the reason. It’s undignified.
This is a great skeet. We should really give it up for @profmusgrave.bsky.social And for everyone else who posts!
This would be a good setting. I’d also like being able to only ALLOW qt’s from people you follow. It would help bring the temperature down in my opinion.
I’m sure this partially a function of the smaller user base, but the fact that it’s easy to see “all the posts” in your feed and then be done is a big advantage.
The site doesn’t stay “friendly” just because you have a bigger mob to harass people than your opponents, and you’re a fool to think that same mob won’t turn on you.
Exceedingly clear that for many early Bluesky users, their objection to the police isn’t that they bind one group and protect another, it’s that they merely disagree on which groups to protect and which to bind.
It feels to me that if you define “kinder and gentler” as “harasses people that i think are bad”, you’ve just described a place where your ingroup is more popular. I think expecting your cultural allies/near allies to only harass people who you think “deserve it” is asking for trouble.
Probably the right solution is still the old-internet/federation style thing where we don’t try to stick everyone in the same mixing pot, but “it’s still kind to harass people if they’re Bad” is some extreme Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party energy.

Eventually you just have too many users who don’t care enough about mod drama to move, and the only people who care about moderating enough to form their own community are people who probably should’ve been banned anyway.
“Sub communities with their own moderation” works well if and only if the community is small enough to vote with its feet if modding sucks. This is why small forums and subreddits work well, but large subreddits and FB groups are a disaster.
I’m of two minds on the “locked away” aspect. On one hand, old forums (normally) were public once someone found them. OTOH, the way 2010s era internet encouraged hunting through someone’s past tweets to dogpile them was extremely unhealthy, and anything that makes that harder is good.
Maybe we weren’t meant to all be in one space. Maybe we should return to niche forums with 50ish regular users, w/ one or two resident assholes everyone sort of puts up with, instead of constantly warring factions of discordant cultural groups over virtual territory.
On the one hand, the 2010s-era internet is rapidly collapsing (not just Twitter - Google, Facebook, Reddit, etc).
OTOH, can anyone truly say that the last decade of the internet was an altogether successful experiment?

Personally I think we should keep around a feed that does that, just for fun

Alleviating inequality and providing plenty for Americans is an extremely important goal, which is why we should be honest about the economic reality when we advocate for these goals.
I’m getting the impression you’re not actually interested in whether your numbers are true, so have a nice day.
This is the same accounting mistake articles on this topic make - not counting non-transaction liquid assets is a bizarre choice that doesn’t map onto actual finances. Even if we did use this number, $5300 is dramatically more than “one month of expenses” for most households.
