A good way to jump in is to block stuff in it 3d! Or if you're not comfortable using a 3d program, find a life sim game, set up an environment, take screencaps and use that as reference.
But I understand the siren's call to just avoid backgrounds forever, haha.

A movie-style poster of a Curse of Strahd D&D campaign, complete with a number of PCs/NPCs. From top to bottom, left to right: Arabelle, Ireena, Lancelot, Kelogul, Juno, Arrel, Heshky, Rictavio, Kasimir, Ismark, Ivalice, Legolai, Ilimir, Izek, Vasili, a raven. Strahd hovers in the background.
Sketch I gotta desperately finish of my Curse of Strahd campaign lol.
I know lol, I loved TS3. Hated the loading times.
I would absolutely love a graphics/optimization update, tbh. Unfortunately don't know how annoying I can be about that to get that done!
Lol yeah unfortunately I can't release the concepts I did for it until I get approval!
I can say though I worked on both references to the heart-shaped bed because I demanded it get added like every expansion lol. They literally pulled me off of a task to do the second one.
ME TOO, before I started working on it lol.
Haha us too! ... Except in our case, three of our players have run it before, and they really wanted to run it again making different choices. One of them ran it in a different group, and the other is a first-timer. We love it!
Yup! I think I've worked on 15 or so packs at this point? Memorable ones were Cottage Living, Werewolves, the attic... pack, and then I was object lead on Enchanted By Nature.
Unfortunately I haven't updated my portfolio with stuff I've released recently, but here's some assets I worked on.
Made a quick starter pack of artists under 1K!
If you meet the requirements and are not in this pack, share your art in this thread and leave a little introduction for all to see as I add you ๐

An image of a young Strahd sitting on the shoulders on Rahadin, pointing a wooden sword off-camera during sunset.
An image of a frightened red-haired woman with a cut throat wearing a diamond tiara, with a group of swords hovering around her.
An image of a gigantic monster in front of an eclipse, hovering ominously over a D&D party.
An image of Sans, from Undertale, facing off against Frisk while lasers from the gaster blaster shoot around them.
I'd be interested in being added!
I am Emile, a concept artist at Maxis. I like D&D a lot (especially Curse of Strahd), and like drawing a weird mixture of cute stuff and horror.
Thank you! Yeah I was intimidated by the tiara before I studied a lot of ref and went "... Oh. It's like... a bunch of triangles..."

A photo of two goldfish, one black and gold, one orange/white/black, swimming next to each other.
Bonus: here's them IRL.
A stylized picture of two goldfish, one black and gold, and the other orange, white, and black.
I have goldfish now. I love them so much.
I wanted to draw them to maybe make some stickers for myself. Their names are Sumi and Taiyo.

@g-ambatte.bsky.social went ahead and made my vampire template look prettier on homebrewery!
It looks awesome! Way better than 'shitty google doc' I had haha.
There's probably parts I need to format more on my end (remove so many bullet points, for instance) but this is excellent. Thank you so much!
I couldn't find any rules on vampire PCs I liked for D&D. So I made my own.
I'm still actively testing it (I've got two vampires in my current campaign) but I'm putting it up incase people are interested anyway.
(I'm trying to write a homebrewery version but lol I suck at it).
An older picture of "Frisk" running towards Sans with a crazed grin on their face, with a nervous sans in the foreground and lasers everywhere.
Thanks! In fairness the Sans picture is one I redrew a bit ago because I hated the OG one lol, and was upset I felt I didn't do my favorite character service.
Frisk charging towards Flowey's weird TV form.
Frisk clinging to a web ladder, fighting Miss Muffet, who is dangling above the giant spider boss.
Frisk fighting Undyne, with a shield, all of her green spears heading towards them.
A remake of an older picture -- "Frisk" running towards Sans, while lasers from the skull blasters are firing at him.
Happy anniversary, Undertale! I've still got a soft spot for the game, even though I've drawn little for it since.
Since I can't fit all the pieces into one post, here's my favorites.

A sketch of a smiling elf saying "You don't have to mourn someone who'd celebrate your suicide!"
injured my hand, making sure it still works. that's all.
A lot of discrimination against us simply gets referred to as misogyny and rolled into the transmisogyny umbrella.
Look I know people are (reasonably) allergic to the word misandry but please understand some of our issues are unique and stop saying our problems are women's problems.
We're past the halfway mark!
A blue skinned pink haired elf standing amongst decaying ruins in front of a small shrine to three figures.
My full piece for the Original Classics zine.
It was definitely a kind of "fly by the seat of my pants" piece with minimal sketch work but overall I'm happy with it. :)

Thank you! Yeah shelf mushrooms look so cool. I also like chicken of the woods lol, but opted not to include that one (for some reason)!
She does look cool! Love that expression too. :D

I contributed to this! There's some fantastic pieces in this too. :)
