All people want is enough money to live, a small garden, a green path to walk down, a friendly corner bakery, and a working public transport system. It's not that hard.

This story is so insane. Nothing is real.

The New York Times Got Played By A Telehealth Scam And Called It The Future Of AI Since the New York Times published its semi-viral big profile of Medvi last week — the "AI-powered" telehealth startup that it breathlessly described as a "$1.8 billion company" supposedly run by just two brothers — I've had multiple friends and family members send me the article with some version of the same message: "Can you believe this guy built a billion-dollar company with AI?

Just made my calls. Feels futile in Tennessee, but doing nothing feels worse.

Here in the deep rural South, the best Indian food often is from our interstate truck stops! Hope it was great!

There are now only two types of officers workers: those gleefully embracing AI and those stuck fixing their slop.

I am constantly afraid of losing my ability to write, and all of the research on AI shows cognitive declines are real. Why would I give up my only God-given talent in this entire world while training my replacement and accelerating climate change? Fuck all the way off with this noise.

Why would I use "AI," I actually know how to fucking write

I had an extreme example of AI making my work 100x stupider today (not my AI, a colleague used it on something high stakes), and I'm just so pissed that this is how work is now.

(their admins had done the original configuration so of course they figured they could improve it. Dear reader, they did not.)

I once watched 4 former AWS execs with $5-10 million dollar salaries spend an hour rearranging 2 tables in the middle of a busy Manhattan restaurant only to end up at their original configuration. So, you know, really hitting those KPIs.

Tech leaders are incredibly dumb is the main thing I learned in 3 years at an AI startup.

Having just worked directly under a handful of former Amazon execs who were acronym-spinning clowns that couldn't get out of their own way to get any actual work done, this is concerning.

For nurses especially, who often are responding immediately and don't have time to consult AI, this feels especially troubling? My labor and delivery nurses were incredible and knew so much, I can't imagine what that experience would be like if they'd checked ChatGpt every time my labor stalled.

The teen who works on my farm is getting her associates degree in a program with many nursing students. Apparently her peers are using chatGPT for all their homework and exams, which are mainly done online. I'm deeply concerned about how this affects care in a few years.

At a recent protest, the local TP chapter showed up to interview people but wouldn't say who they were w/, so people thought they were giving interviews to legit media. Husb & I spent two hours following them around, singing "This Little Light Of Mine" and ruining their audio. 10/10 recommend.

Besides being funny all by itself, the deposition is a great example of AI brain rot. The DOGE bro is plainly an otherwise (relatively) capable and intelligent person. But because he just cribbed his instructions from the EO while working and never internalized it, he can’t actually explain it now.
