Honestly psyched for a non-competitive version of Splatoon. The gameplay is so slick, fun and different; the art design is the perfect mix of adorable and weird.
I just have zero desire to get routinely curb-stomped by people who play 24/7 when I just want a quick bit of fun.

Out running errands this morning in a trenchcoat because of the rain, when this came on our playlist. Suddenly I felt like @jmkeep.bsky.social and I were private investigators on the heels of a mystery.
I’ve had the same editor since 1967. Many times he has said to me over the years or asked me, Why would you use a semicolon instead of a colon? And many times over the years I have said to him things like: I will never speak to you again. Forever. Goodbye. That is it. Thank you very much. And I leave. Then I read the piece and I think of his suggestions. I send him a telegram that says, OK, so you’re right. So what? Don’t ever mention this to me again. If you do, I will never speak to you again
Maya Angelou on the joys of being edited
Oh goodie... prep time for power outages. @jekeep.bsky.social @jmkeep.bsky.social looks like you're in for a lot.
I would write messed up, weird fiction with @jmkeep.bsky.social that is totally unpublishable. The kind of stuff we wrote before becoming professionals and having to write for market.
No guardrails for the market, just wall to wall fucked up shit.
The warmongers don't need progressive to shout jingoistic pro-war slogans, they got that covered. They have a more important role for you in deflating the anti-war movement:
Clucking your tongue and saying that war is bad, but the other side is so guilty too.
Awkward Pause: The Movie
These creepy-weirdo glasses look ridiculous.
How much did the Trans Canada Highway lose?
My #spicy #scifi story Ariana's First Mission and 19 others are in this great bundle for only $20, which is 64% off of the regular price.
I rewatched Cloverfield for the first time in like 20 years. And boy...
I forgot how fucking obnoxious that annoying guy behind the camera is. He does not STFU the entire goddamn movie with his crap.
"78% of Canadians no longer consider the United States a friend or ally."
Everyone except those traitor conservatives gets it. And a handful of bureaucrats that pollute our government and military.
And people wonder why so many developing countries restrict access to western media. If it's not US gov sponsored propaganda, or corporate social media toxicity, it's deranged proselytizing.
And the scene where the sex worker says "You have a really nice place, Paul" in that loud, slow voice you use when speaking to a tiny child or someone who struggles to understand english... always kills me. Placating because she knows he's fishing for ego strokes about his material wealth.
Wall to wall indications his social network thinks he's a bigger loser than the guy Bateman keeps saying is the big loser of the network. I mean, Paul Allen -- the man everyone is envious of -- actually wants to have dinner with him, and network. But is utterly dismissive of nepo baby Bateman.
This time rewatching American Psycho I picked up on some of that I missed in previous watches. Like the woman at the bar who says Bateman is "sweet". I never understood that, because he's absolutely not sweet. But what she means is he seems like a harmless nitwit.
Guys who say "I'm just like Patrick Bateman!" are more like him than they realize. Because Bateman is also oblivious to how everyone around him blatantly regards him as the biggest loser.
I hurt my back yesterday so my husband spent all day fretting and looking up what to do and has devised a massage program for me that he insists on doing every night just in case you're wondering where my romance heroes get this shit.
God damn it
Ethical Considerations: The work’s reliance on virginity fetishization, questionable consent, and familial power play warrants scrutiny. As fantasy, it may serve its intended readers, but the absence of critical perspective, irony, or psychological safety net is noteworthy. Fiction allows for transgressive exploration, but here fantasy fulfillment supersedes self-reflection or ethical commentary
I gotta say, seeing an AI generated 1 star review on Goodreads for an erotic short?
And it has a section chastising the story for being unethical in its fetishization of the characters?
It's gonna make me scream.
A VCR never sold my private info to a nazi
I wouldn't wish this on you but I will wish authentic and thoughtful views from real people.

Some corporate stooge tells us the NDPs new plan is pointless because no Canadian company would do 'personalized pricing'. And the "great" thing about this article?
If you actually read it, the last sentence says at least 60 Canadian companies already are using it. But sure, lead with a BS title.
It's just empty PR to protect their asses. They'll fight tooth and nail against any actual universal income legislation.
Maybe forcing people to build their creative careers on private online infrastructure that can and does collapse semi-regularly wasn't the best of ideas actually
But of bliss and glad life there is little to be said, before it ends; as works fair and wonderful, while they still endure for eyes to see, are ever their own record, and only when they are in peril or broken for ever do they pass into song.
