Also just checked and my rate for this specific event has not changed in 7 years. Even when I increased my rates for other departments I kept this one the same. So just fuck me I guess.

Don’t love it when my anxiety is proven 100 percent justified.
Not me spending a therapy session fretting about lack of work because I’m convinced that the constant devaluation of creative work means people are no longer willing to pay my rate only to get an email letting me know I lost a job I’ve been doing for years because they went with someone cheaper.
In February I took a trip to California for my birthday, it was an important photo journey for me. These photos document my first trip to Yosemite where we saw Mirror Lake, El Capitan, and walked the Lower Yosemite Falls trail. Click the link below for more photos!

The idea that bright, wild color is something you outgrow is a damaging lie society tells us. This unspoken rule, that enjoying intense, clashing colors makes you childish, is pure bullshit. The depression palette trend has only gotten worse because it saves corpos money. We gotta end it.
Taking pictures at a conference about women in healthcare. Got asked if I was sick likely because I wasn’t wearing makeup and I usually do. Ironically last time I did one of these I was getting over being sick and slathered myself with makeup to hide it. No one suspected a thing. Welp.
I viewed the pics as an official coming out because they were from backgrid which is notoriously the paparazzi company that celebrities call when they want to be seen.
He also threw in Halle Berry for good measure since she was the first black woman to win for best actress and that was in our lifetime. Although other black women have won since her.
Can’t believe they invited Ewan Mcgregor to the Oscars for a Moulin Rouge bit when he has never been nominated for an Academy Award. For shame.
My favorite thing about Hamnet is that two famous Irish actors played these very British people better than any Brit could. Jessie Buckley ending her speech in Gaelic was perfect.
There was never any doubt in my mind that Michael B. Jordan was the best actor last year. He is a true artist like everyone else involved in Sinners which is why it was the best film.
Are you telling me that there was a literal opera song nominated and they didn’t have time to get them onstage to needle T Chalms?
Bring back the music to the movies is what I’m saying.
The musical performances at the Oscars are legendary and part of why I started watching the Oscars as a kid. Iconic moments like Bjork performing a duet alone or The Swell Season when Jon Stewart brought Marketa back out after commercial break because she got played off.
Hilarious that the Oscars pretends everyone has an equal chance to win and then only let the two real contenders actually perform for best song onstage.
As a photographer this is very emotional for me. There was a time cinematography was my dream job.
FIRST WOMAN TO WIN FOR CINEMATOGRAPHY? Yesssss. Also for Sinners. You love to see it.
Is Demi Moore wearing Moira Rose’s premiere dress from The Crowening?
At least we got a sweet gay moment with a one battle after another win.
I was surprised that Paul Mescal wasn’t nominated because he was excellent in Hamnet.
That mustache definitely looks like it’s for a role I agree, it’s playing a whole part.
This Swedish composer who scored Sinners really proves the point of the movie about music. So many genres and cultures blended in that movie and the music was a huge part of it. I figured Sinners would win this if they don’t win for Best Song.
Also caught a glimpse of Jonathan Bailey’s SLGs in the snippet of Jurassic World and then it felt intentional.
This is the first time I’ve seen Pedro since he officially came out and he looks so happy! Love to see it.
Fun fact: my partner @futurerobert.bsky.social and I sang A Kiss at The End of the Rainbow at karaoke the week Catharine O’Hara died. Her performance with Eugene Levy at the Oscar’s for A Mighty Wind is one of my favorite things. Legendary.
It was probably the best I’ve seen in a long time but there was also so many significant people who died. The eulogies got me.
I can’t believe it took them this long to actually do eulogies from the actors about their colleagues to make us all really feel the loss.
Omg Babs out here in her witchy crone era and I’m here for it.
Not Billy Crystal out get making me cry. And the Princess Bride theme.
Is this the beginning of In Memoriam or did they have to do one specifically for Rob Reiner?
