Having a range of books on display can bring in readers especially in the front or by the windows. Shows what they have that you might be interested in or curious about!
finding some inspiration for sure! But I really enjoy when shops have books in the front that show a range of titles and different themes of books whether they are related or maybe not.
Same goes with merch, board games, and possibly just collectibles of fun toys and finds!
