Watching MISHIMA and FIRST REFORMED for the first time in a few years again. Schrader has this way of doing these movies - smart and poignant but also raw and dark. I can't get enough. I wonder how this will affect my comedy set later on.

A lot of those guys seem to just not like Trump... rest of the conservative project seems fine with em.
In your 30s and beyond this is just how you weed people out, by their stories and how they tell 'em
People love going off emotion over the facts. The internet just gave everybody a private bubble where they can make their own facts and narratives about anything.
Don't know what the hell kind of world they want
Dan Schulman is the new CEO of Verizon and he is predicting 20 to 30% unemployment within the next 2 to 5 years due to AI.
Not a typo. He thinks 1/3 of people currently employed will lose their jobs by 2030.
I heard they later tried to make it into some kind of leftist thing where it was a government psyop, but I may have misheard that plot or just missed it. But I quit after the third one.
THE PURGE: ANARCHY has to be up there. That and its sequel I found so reductive as a way to explore how people act. Mundane, small minded shit.
I feel like something that people in government who are anti gun fail to realize is that you cannot reduce deaths by changing what we can get, but by changing how difficult it is to get them
I should need a permit to own a gun, backed by numerous tests and exams
instead, any schmuck can buy a gun.
Just got to start it even if it's not ready. A lot of things I write are so basic and rudimentary until I go back and edit and re-write things. That's the whole process - building outward until you get it as detailed as you like.
They were fun in the theater but rarely held up when you tried to watch em again.
Man, my boomer dad, while discussing insane cost of living right now, said "Oh yeah well we don't have bread lines so how bad could it possibly be", which owns bc it presupposes our modern gov would even bother doing that shit in the first place
telling a bunch of Americans about how all the schools you went to had corporal punishment and noting the increasing looks of horror on their faces with satisfaction before realising you have been calling it capital punishment from the start
It's really something how AI and this other stuff, crypto, etc, is just these tech guys trying to keep on reinventing stuff, but now for no reason. You got there already. Computers, the internet - it all worked just fine already and still does. But that's not good enough for capitalism.
This band helped form my whole taste in any kind of music. New album's good even if it isn't their old stuff. Their singer died 20 years ago and their old guitarist was arrested for selling drugs in Florida. But they managed a good fucking album anyway. I always have time for 'em.
[chanting at the 2028 DNC as Jared Golden takes the stage] FEW-ER CAMPS! FEW-ER CAMPS!
damn that's funny as hell. that this will happen to one single person we don't like and no one else lol.
First episode or so of the new BEEF felt like a worse version of WHITE LOTUS but now it might be like a better version of it. Episode 4 is nuts.
"Boys are Back in Town" isn't really even one of my favorites on there. There are a shitload of awesome songs on it.
NASA astronaut Christina Koch sits in an U.S. Navy MH-60S Seahawk attached to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23 on the flight deck of the San Antonio Class amphibious transport dock USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26) after returning from space on Apr. 10, 2026.
This picture of Astronaut Christina Koch after the Artemis landing is frankly incredible and beautiful.
Unconscionable tax situation in the US. Gotta do em or you'll go to jail, but there's huge fat leech companies who prevent anyone from offering free services for this labyrinthine shit. Gotta get the dollar. Gotta suck out profit from every single living fucking thing.
I love reading novels. I’m always amazed by folks who don’t read fiction. There is nothing better, to me, than being in the middle of a book that you can’t wait to return to. It’s like living two lives at once.
i'll read any article of any length. i'll read any book. but i will not watch a youtube explainer or monologue that is longer than three minutes. write it down buddy
Well you win some you lose some I guess
if you’ve never endured period poops you absolutely should not be able to vote, some things just require life experience
It all worked out for em, huh?
me: first time doing stand up. go easy on me
(six frail robes rap their staves on the ground, spit and leave the cave in unison)
me: a howling hymn shadows me sometimes. the thing i find uh..strange about the hymn is i feel its genesis inside me. like an invective of milk. child-egg made in a father
It doesn't matter whether you are on twitter or bluesky, you will always see long threads of men arguing w/ each other about whether economic feelings are real without seeing anyone mention childcare costs, rising unsheltered homelessness or the fact that uncountable numbers of families live in cars
