I think there's a lot of good in there, and it's about damn time!! :)

I feel every time I write a blog post at the moment a little voice in my head starts doing a mock opera voice and saying You're taaalkin' uttttter shiiiiiiiiiiit, and then I either delete it, ignore it in 4thewords or I save it with the intention of going back and editing it later. It never happens.
There's so much to unpack and I'm surprised they're not listening to so many of us who have been around for a long time! It's disappointing at the very best.
Like I said, still here, still writing, but...

#NaNoWriMo
Honestly, I normally donate on double up donation weekend - I have a lovely collection of pins from being a donor and an ML and this year, I didn't. I didn't feel like I could get myself right with it and that felt so difficult.
I realise I did a whole #Preptober thing and then as soon as #NaNoWriMo started I sort of dropped off the map. Just checking in to say still here, still writing. We're not talking word counts bc I'm almightily peeved with mine...
Not even. I mean, Day 1 I spent the first four hours driving, bc I don't understand maps (I thought Coventry was on the way to Manchester from Birmingham - it's not) but then it's just been lack of focus. I would normally be done by now. I could have been done by now. (With 50K)
Just struggling with not writing as much as I want to.
I am. It's just turned Day 3 here and I'm stress eating...
Maybe see how it goes and then think about it when you're done? Only because you might fine it fits better than you think it will at the moment, or you might happen across a better title while writing...
I've been around NaNo for a long time. I think it's been gone for about 10 years, sadly.
Is there yet more YIKES going on in there at the moment?
This is why I miss when April used to be Script Frenzy. I was shocking at it, but it was so much more visible in terms of script writing.
Have you heard the unofficial terms? December : NaNoFiMo (National Novel Finishing Month) January : NaNoEdMo (National Novel Editing Month) though personally I object to it being so close to having supposedly finished. Then again, I've not really seen either get used much for a few years, sadly.
It does a bit. I'd kind of expect a bit of a 50/50 split, so if they're kind of like a side character then maybe not. But as a WORKING TITLE, man, anything goes...
More to the point, if not now, when? There's literally no harm in trying and seeing how it goes!
I mean, next year you'll have a baby and a toddler, and then after that, two toddlers, partly because I have no idea how long we call them toddlers for but I think it's until they're like 5, right?
Yeah, I try to prioritise, and then realise there is a lot I'm willing to drop to make NaNoWriMo work... It definitely makes things interesting...
Yeah, pre-NaNo nesting is a well documented phenomenon not confined to the females of the species. I can't wait until we WriMos get our own documentary, but if it's not narrated by David Attenborough then it's going to be awful.
Does it? I mean, 50k, 30 days, yes, but other than that, you can pants your way to the end of it doing things as and when you want to. Said from experience.
I doubt that this is needed around here, bc most of the people I'm connected with, or whatever, are writers, but ta-da, it's the pre-NaNo post... charlieswrite.blogspot.com/2023/10/some...)
Oh, the Hunger Games posts have started already. It's clearly getting close to #NaNoWriMo time!
100% not ready. I'm going to be working on something, but Lord only knows what. I was hoping that this year would be the year I took my record out and smashed it to pieces, but that's not happening. I'm kind of sad about it, but also trying to accept that I need to be realistic.
I'm not sure if this is just a me thing, but every time I read the name of this website, the George Ezra song comes into my head. I'm not sad about it, but it keeps happening.
Although #NaNoWriMo hasn't made it over here yet, it would seem, figure it's worth saying I've been posting #PrepTober blogs on charlieswrite.blogspot.com
Generally they're scheduled to come out at noon each day, which is abnormal for me, because I hate schedules!
