This is why, while I am very happy about the results of the referendum yesterday, I'm keeping my champagne on reserve for now.

When they received the call to respond to an Israeli airstrike in the city of Mayfadoun, in southern Lebanon, most of the paramedics held back, having previously seen colleagues killed by double-tap attacks targeting rescuers. But the medics from the Islamic Health Association (IHA) rushed to the scene. By the time the other emergency workers arrived at the site, they found the IHA medics had indeed been caught in a second strike. They started evacuating their wounded colleagues, only for their ambulances to be hit in two further attacks. One of the paramedics covered his ears and screamed, convulsing in pain as shrapnel shattered the back window of the ambulance. The rescue mission on Wednesday afternoon had turned into a nightmare as Israel carried out three consecutive strikes on three sets of ambulances and medical workers.
Israel performed a literal quadruple tap attack in Lebanon to massacre three separate sets of medics.
Truly pushing the bounds of human depravity.

"I was ABSOLUTELY told that the Democrats would be bringing knives to the gun fight. What the fuck are they doing bringing guns?" --a whole lot of Republicans looking at the results from Virginia right now
Matt Damon playing a 14th century French knight that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mullet. Beard. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and cigarette smoke.
Matt Damon while playing Odysseus who also looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Long, skinny beard. Smells like horseshit, pine tar, and perhaps Mediterranean herbs.
Matt Damon playing a 19th century cowboy that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mustache. Shaggy hair. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and definitely chewing tobacco.
Every time Matt Damon takes on a period role he ends up looking like a third baseman for the Phillies.
You ever try to code switch at work and fail? 😂
Aw man. Dave Mason was not only a 70s AM Gold superstar, but also a centerpiece of one of my deep fried favorite cinematic disasters - the ridiculous, silly, over the top SKATETOWN USA. He performed the theme song as well as two performances in the film. You'll know it as Patrick Swayze's 1st film.
The message of the Right reacting to Virginia is the same as the message of "2020 was rigged": no victory by anyone but us is ever legitimate. We are the only ones allowed to win.
These people are cartoon villains entitled to no respect and no trust. Rabid dogs.
what remains to be seen:
—What Florida Republicans do in a special session next week.
—What Missouri's supreme court does with ballot petitions to block the new Missouri map (accounts for 1 GOP seat).
—What Virginia's supreme court does with the GOP lawsuit against the Virginia referendum.
It is worth mentioning that the Virginia Supreme Court could still throw this all into the James River, so let's not get too excited yet.
Trump starting a Gerrymandering war he couldn’t finish feels a whole lot Trump starting trade wars he couldn’t finish and this Iran war he can’t finish.
He’s not playing chess people.
JUST IN: A federal judge has tossed a defamation lawsuit Kash Patel brought against former FBI official / pundit Frank Figliuzzi.
Figliuzzi’s claim that Patel spent more time in nightclubs than at FBI HQ was “rhetorical hyperbole,” the judge rules.

RealTheoWold 10m Republicans take office and tell us that 'norms, procedures, and principles' prevent us from actually using our power to destroy the left. Democrats take office and the first thing they do is completely take away the voice that conservatives have in the federal government.
Republicans, “The Party of Norms, Procedures, and Principles”?
LOL LMAO
Yep. But you don't have to like doing it.
The GOP entered this redistricting under the rather childish delusion they were going to gerrymander, and nobody would gerrymander them. In TX, MO, and a half dozen other states, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind
*grim nod of agreement*
I have opposed gerrymandering every single time it has come up. It’s a perversion of the political process. I voted Yes in this election without hesitation. Unilateral disarmament is unacceptable.
If you can help Ross out, I know he would greatly appreciate it.
We finally have what you've all been waiting for: the final result of Loudoun County.
(Anyone who followed the 2024 count remembers Loudoun.)
The YES won by 21%, with 144K ballots counted.
A very strong result (as we're seeing throughout NoVa): Spanberger won here by 29%, and Jones by only 19%.
This is not a good thing that we have done tonight, Virginia. It is a necessary thing. The difference is important to remember.
I'm glad this got approved and I also fervently hate that it has come to this.
lol imagine being on a submarine right now

tech industry is just a handful of guys passing around the same 500 billion dollars
Trumpism is, essentially, Calvinball.
I feel like it's poorly understood that Trumpism is *explicitly* about Trump and his allies getting to play by their own set of rules literally wherever possible
She was a decent baker, but a legendarily terrible cook. I didn't even know I actually loved asparagus until I was in my late 20s. She cooked it until it was the color of an army jeep, and frankly the jeep might have tasted better.
WTAF.
My maternal grandma's tomato aspic. Just vile.
Well would ya look at that...turns out we can't depend on the billionaires' vanity side projects to sustain innovation.

Feel like it should be a bigger story that Howard Lutnick's firm (run by his kids) created a financial product to buy up tariff refund claims at a major discount, and will now be cashing in on the higher costs passed onto consumers.
