Yeah I haven't played doubles nearly as much, but I think actually crafting the team and figuring out matchups has been the best part. I like how fast the meta is changing. Going from dominant one day to completely read and needing something new is really cool

Feeling like a fraud out here in master ball. I think that's the goal anyways
Part of me wants to lean into doubles, but another part was mostly having fun in singles. Umbreon still sucks tho
Day 1 in master ball was surprisingly successful. Day 2 was funny, my team keeps getting bodied. I probably need to be smarter with my leads instead of mind gaming them
I've been sick on ultra ball rank 1 for like three days now. It's fun running different teams, but I wish I had that little bit of traction to get to master ball. This being where I stall in my climb is very annoying, but probably pretty normal
Umbreon is a real piece of shit. I understand stall is effective, but my god is it obnoxious to deal with. Obviously my bad if it sets up, gg etc, but the fact that we both have to waste 15 minutes of our life. I'll never forfeit, you're stuck with your idiotic win too
Didn't play much today, managed to drop a ranking and then climb back to where I started. I still feel like I'm getting better gameplans. I also started doing doubles and built a team, but ironically enough I've been able to use things I learned from one and apply it in the other. Game is fun
I'm in Ultra Ball rank 2 in singles. From what I understand masterball has actual elo. I'm looking forward to getting there soon. I've bit the bullet and added garchomp and Charizard y to my team for better matchups, but it's been nice being able to pivot to some of my other mons
Realizing Champions has a built in data set of the exact percentages of pokemon, moves, nature's, ev spreads, abilities is honestly kind of crazy. Having this as an in-game thing I can see is a level of transparency I never would have expected from the pokemon company
I'm still trying to figure out team building. My core 3 of M.Froslass, H.Arcanine, and Greninja has served me very well up til ultra ball rank. I have Palafin, Rotom Wash, and Gengar on my roster as well, but I don't really use them. I like the fake out of having Palafin and not using her
I get the vgc players who are a little sad about held items, but that format from the outside looking in has always had rule and roster changes. I might be talking out of my ass here though.
The reduced pool of pokemon and held items is basically perfect for someone like me who is essentially just starting out. Only having to learn the basics with a small roster is nice. It does make me wonder what the game is like for people with no knowledge of basics like STAB etc
So I think I'm pretty much exactly the market for this game after playing for about ten hours. As someone who has always had an interest in competitive but zero desire to breed perfect IVs or use someone else's teams, it's nice being able to have my own and make it "viable" with no extra effort
I completely get why the people who play showdown would think champions is stupid, but I don't. I like having an official way to play singles and 3v3 reminds me a lot about what I loved from the stadium games.
Yeah, I'm having a blast with champions. It's been nice learning. Yesterday I was steam rolling the other scrubs, then this morning I was getting my teeth kicked in. Right now, however, I'm actually doing pretty good facing others around my skill level. 8 win streak and haven't fought a bot lately
Pokemon champions is dope. I can see how the target audience may not like it compared to modern resources but I dig it. I'm having a blast
Maybe I start streaming on days off again, not like I'm doing anything too crazy. Just hanging out with my animals
It's kinda crazy how reclusive I've become
With discord wanting age verification, it's time to bring back mumble and irc
Stephen Miller looks like he's getting iced out of meetings. Thank God, that dude is a major ghoul
I never would have thought I'd like Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD better than 3 but it's just a fuller more modern experience
It looks really good, but I also have a deep nostalgia for the psx Dragon Warrior 7 so I can't miss it
Dragon Quest 1-2 2D-HD is super good. I always liked the first game despite it being like 90% grinding, but it actually feels like a whole game. I don't know if I'm going to get to 2 before DQ7 Reimagined.
Me and my girlfriend started playing Balder's Gate 3 co-op in PS5. It's been a lot of fun. I wanted an rpg to lose myself in, she wanted to play actual D&D so it's been a nice best of both worlds.
I'm playing a Drow Rogue and trading out character buds while she's doing basically two Karlachs
Holy shit I had no idea Guild Wars 2 was still getting content
I wish I liked other classic rogue likes as much as I like nethack. I think I like that everything is on one screen that helps my enjoyment
Gamers are exhausting. The stakes are so high with some of these idiots
I've only played for an hour but I'm already liking Prime 4 more than I expected to. I really don't care for 2 or 3, so I pretty much expected more of that
