I used to love pineapple crush when I was a kid but I don't think I could even take a sip now

I've watched this before but ages and ages ago so I don't remember anything. I forgot how strange the music is. Also the first death is the most Final Destination style death I've ever seen outside of that franchise
On to the April picks. The theme for April is giallo and first up (for me) is Suspiria. Esther's chosen to watch Deep Red first instead.
I also changed my voicemail so it doesn't have my name or my voice. Just the general voice mail message in the robot voice saying what number they've reached. Give them as little ammo as possible in the rare case I do answer the phone
The phone is not your friend ๐
I've only gotten a private call from my doctor at the scheduled time I'm waiting for a phone appointment. If it's a doctor's office or the hospital, I can always see the number. Your doctor's office won't mind getting your voicemail if it's not a phone appointment you've scheduled.
Don't give them the satisfaction of talking to them! They'll know it's an active number and you'll get more calls. I just don't answer my phone unless it's someone I know personally. Everyone else can leave a message ๐
Anytime someone calls and claims to be from your bank, immediately hang up and just call your bank. It's always a scam and if it is isn't, your actual bank won't mind you being safe.
It was okay. Religious horror isn't really my vibe but I didn't hate it and thought some of the cinematography was pretty cool
Watching the final pick for March, Saint Maud. I'm enjoying the variety of eras for the films we've chosen so far
I've been watching ER as a background show lately. I didn't watch it when it originally aired. People who did watch it when it aired, did you think any of the doctors were good people? Everyone except Carter seems like a miserable horrible person who doesn't know how to communicate.
Once we get back to October we're moving on to an alphabet of horror. We're still working on that list
A screenshot from a spreadsheet organizing horror movies by a monthly theme. The columns are month, theme, final choice 1, and final choice 2. January is possession/body horror, and the two movie choices are Black Sunday and The Substance February is sexy horror, and the two movie choices are X and The Hunger March is religious/cult horror, and the two movie choices are The Wicker Man (1973) and Saint Maud April is giallo, and the two movie choices are Suspiria and Deep Red May is cannibals/horror comedy, and the two movie choices are Raw and Ugly Stepsister June is urban legends, and the two movie choices are The Mothman Prophecies and When A Stranger Calls July is children's horror, and the two movie choices are Monster Squad and Something Wicked This Way Comes August is teen horror, and the two movie choices are Ginger Snaps and I Know What You Did Last Summer September is slasher, and the two movie choices are In A Violent Nature and Candyman October is iconic villains/classic horror, and the two movie choices are Halloween and Psycho November is gothic/zombies, and the two movie choices are The Innocents and Quarantine December is psychological horror, and the two movie choices are Don't Look Now and The Night of the Hunter
If anyone is curious, here's the full list of our choices (we just narrowed down the last few months). We started in October.
Me too! He is very loud and opinionated but that just comes from being a little old man
I've never done acid, but it feels like I imagine something made on an acid trip would feel. It's folk horror with the understanding that "folk" is JRR Tolkien. And by that I mean there's singing every 5 minutes and Christopher Lee is in it. It's a great time!
Finally getting around to the March picks. Tonight I'm watching The Wicker Man (1973). I have actually seen this one before but not for ages. Let's see if I can remember what I learned about folk horror in my Folklore in Pop Culture class from the beginning of my PhD
Honestly? Not very well. In addition to my general health issues, I've been plagued with "what is the point of doing anything" and "I'm not doing enough" to the point I feel frozen? Been debating therapy but not sure I can try to gaslight myself into feeling better about the world right now
A small elderly black and white shih tzu being held in someones arms
My friend is fostering a 12 year old palliative shih tzu named Jesus Christ Cheeseburger who is blind and deaf and has kidney problems and was found over the summer at an outdoor pond baptism
Only a few weeks!
I thought I'd have time before the spam started ๐๐ญ
I'm nlgraveyardgirl there if you want to follow each other. I only have the one post because I had the same qualms. The only notification I've gotten there besides a single follow was a sugar daddy spam message ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Instagram is a cesspool full of deep fake AI ads. Is anyone using Upscrolled? My twitter people got separated between here and there and I don't want to lose touch with them if I give it up
I think a lot of Canadians rather desperately want Carney to be something other than a banker, but this thread is exactly right about who our Prime Minister is.
He's an economic calculator and that's about as far as his thinking appears to go.
The world is a sad and scary place and I've cried and ranted and written my MP and shared information and now all I can do is make a brown sugar latte cake and hope that gives me the strength to do it all again tomorrow
I've never had Taco Bell and I'll probably try it once but I can make my own crunchwraps and my friends from Mexico gave me their salsa verde recipe so I can make better things at home.
If anyone wants to follow along for next month's Religious/Cult horror, we're choosing Wickerman (1973) because somehow Esther has not seen it and Saint Maud (2019)
Our final pick for this month's sexy horror theme is The Hunger (1983). Nothing sexier than David Bowie and Susan Sarandon and vampires and the 80s
Can you buy second hand? A newer-not-new-new phone at least?
I am over the snow. I'm supposed to do fun things on Wednesday so of course there will be a storm
I was literally in a haunted building last night helping out with a paranormal investigation event and I'm at year 6 of my PhD. Can I graduate now?
