Something I say privately often, but “Baseball America” being my after the comma when introducing myself for work on stories there still makes me do a double-take. One of those things I never thought I’d get to do in my career. Really grateful for the last four years chipping in with them.

And yes, that’s @jchaimo.bsky.social specifically on that one. A more narrow focus isn’t always better. Miss my time in a lot of those barns, and really enjoyed getting to see a lot of players before they reached the NHL.

Have long felt like I’ve owed the AHL folks more coverage with how good they’ve always been to me. Know @tonyandrock.bsky.social does great work there, as do others. Became tougher with shrinking budgets. But again, no secret at all I’d be very motivated to get back on that side of things.

Separately, and I don’t think this is a secret, always open to all writing opportunities. Really miss the stuff I was doing on the hockey side covering the E again for a few years. Will never not be annoyed with how that ended. Would love to do more on the minor-league hockey side again.

Working on something pretty fun on the Baseball America side of the gig that I’d expect you’ll see in mid-December. Stay tuned.

This was good. More this, less talking heads yelling at each other with arguments they don’t actually believe in.

The way content seems to get squashed over at the other place obviously sucks, but I don’t think we’re quite there yet over here on a lot of people who need to have a presence here making the jump/trying it out. Trending well, but so was Threads.

Overlooked, for whatever reason, on the Ichiro HOF stuff? This isn’t the MLB HOF. Overlooking what he did in Japan for nine years when making your case — and holy hell, that man doesn’t need one, he should be unanimous — is silly.
