Shāo hòu jiàn/See you later. Sun Wen, one of the all time Greats.

I have penned some words on her, and the importance of respecting the elders to accompany this illustration ➡️ themattrd.substack.com/p/sun-wen-an...

God it's hard to see Ireland doing so well with a manager that talks their technical ability up rather than it just being 'we work hard'...

Gabriel has probably committed about 5 yellow worthy offences, and a straight red worthy offence, and is still on the pitch. Crazy.

Crazy that premier league refs can watch someone's shirt be ripped by grappling and not even acknowledge that something happened when the play stops

You'll never guess what? It ended well for them!

Considering it literally never ends well for them, you'd think Liverpool would try to avoid every game turning into end to end nonsense

Not sure hether or not I believe in the universe sending a message but... 😳

At this point just let the players manage themselves. They'll at least play theirselves in their natural positions...

Lots of talk about fight and attacking from a manager who is overseeing some of the most toothless, boring, SWNT football I've ever seen

Not a single player from outside the top 4 in the PFA SWPL team of the year...it's just silly

He definitely did it at least once, pretty sure he did midfielders at CB once as well 😵‍💫

Definitely fits the general PML vibe of playing players out of position because "the system"

She's done that the whole time, always two full backs as wide centre backs in a 3 and it has never looked good (I have specific beef with Lawton at CB because of Sadiku too)

Not a clue, especially when we're playing a 3-6-1 instead and struggling to progress in the final third. Andreatta's tactics have left a bit to be desired imo

Ireland beating Poland in League A while we labour against Belgium in League B. Love this.

A look of horror across the face of Sabrina Soubreyand

A look of horror across the face of Sabrina Soubreyand

Howard, Newsham, and Brown watching Scotland be weak from a set piece with only one proper centre back on the pitch

Andreatta says things I like, and has made some really brave calls on call ups that I am a fan of (McGov being the starting striker for eg.) but I just struggle to be captured by her when she's also making some calls that just don't really make sense (including some of her other call ups...)

1 centre back and 4 full backs on the pitch... I have not missed Mel Andreatta's lineups

(There are 3 centre backs on the bench!)

You know what, a 1-0 loss is a commendable result. 'Mon the 5-0-5 formation

Scotland WU23 playing France today with seemingly 5 defenders and 5 attackers. Seems a bold strategy to entirely forego a midfield but what do I know

Ah so not # footy scran approved, looks class still though

Saying that I'm not from Aus so only looking at the stats but it does seem like long passing is a weakness you'd think the coaches would want to adapt for (and should be working on with the keeper looking at some of these pass maps because yikes)

Yeah it's just that's why people hate it. I'm a firm believer that the players should be empowered to make the call (which sounds like what you want tbf). But I'd say there's a marked difference between a long kick being "inaccurate" and a short pass in terms of danger created by the turnover.

I mean yeah, but, would you rather give the ball away 17 times in the opposition half (leading to a loose second ball from a contested header) or 8 times within 20 yards of your goal?

Last, but very much not least, Marcus Rashford - helped homeless people in the UK and St Kitts and Nevis, helped feed children who were no longer receiving free school meals, loudly demanding the UK government step up. On top of that he's been facing a literacy campaign (how he finds the time idk)

Borja Iglesias (and his rainbow painted nails) - another good egg in speaking out about bad in the world, including boycotting the Spanish NT until Rubiales resigned. He has become a uniting force in the fight against homophobia in Spain.
