fwiw I joined earlier this year and there was no fees for anything; you submit e-mail paperwork and portfolio samples, schedule a meeting with a member of admin [very informal interview/vibe check]. Hopefully that hasn't changed since then!
If you join the Huntington Artists' Guild (free) you get a special permissions card that you show at security/entry that allows you to bring in art supplies. There's another hoop to jump through if you want to paint with oils (you need re-up permissions monthly). Annoying, but attainable!

It's been a decade since I've regularly done figure drawing, so for the past few weeks I've been taking a class at a local community college coupled with self study from James McMullan's Book, High Focus Drawing. Started off very, very rusty, but each drawing session feels better and better!
