not to mention, with the volume of drawings they need to do, board artists can find themselves easily straying farther and farther from the correct proportions as they lean into their shorthand. I always bring the design lineups into my shots to help me start with the correct baseline for roughs.

ABSOLUTELY. This helps everyone down the pipeline. Revision team has less to adjust, less compromising with Layout team trying to match to board's vision (esp in 3D with its fixed assets), and less hair-pulling overall from the director(s) having to navigate all of this.
