I've just emailed my MP to urge them to defend the European Convention on Human Rights.
Use @libertyhq.bsky.social's helpful tool and call on your MP to oppose the watering down of our key protections.

Thank you for contributing & for this excellent lens on the discussions. Externalising/othering constitutional (fundamental) rights takes the othering of the individuals they protect to an extreme. Migration debates are instrumentalised to justify a broader assault on human&constitutional rights.
Exciting times for me as my book arrives!

I am delighted to report that my chapter discussing "The asymmetric multilayered protection of human rights in the UK after Brexit: a fragmented human rights protection as a factor of constitutional resilience?" (in German) was published last week.
We are launching an LL.M. program in Comparative and Global Law @uni-muenster.de, which is one if the top places in Germany to study law in English, w particular strengths in comparative law & legal history.More info below, pls help spread the word! www.jura.uni-muenster.de/de/internati...
Yes! Important to communicate in that way to maintain and build the resilience of the constitutional order in Germany and support resilience elsewhere (NB. English version). Framing of Staatsgerichtshof ('court for state matters') as a constitutional organ and actor is noteworthy and important.
🇩🇪⚖️The annual reports of BVerfG, available in English, professionally designed, clear, concise, with data, are a stellar achievement of a court that otherwise tends to occasionally struggle with communication (the BVerfG Instagram account story will never not be hilarious)
"forward look to *2025*" 😅
German Federal Constitutional Court just published its Annual Report 2024 (with a helpful summary of some important cases in 2024 and a forward look to 2024) www.bundesverfassungsgericht.de/SharedDocs/P...
Thanks ever so much for all the useful tips and pointers to lists. Hope you are well!
Moving here 👋 - long overdue. Tips on how to rebuild and settle into the new home quickly would be most welcome.
