I hate this so much. The implication is that some of these “public figures” apologized for being wrong and/or were unfairly shamed out of the public sphere? Like…when? Also, the term “public figure” is doing some heavy-lifting; sure seems like this is about specifically billionaires’ hurt feefees.

Fun fact: when the weather gets warm in MI and the old folk that migrate to FL come back to visit, they stock up on Coney Kits to take with them. I fully believe opening a coney restaurant down there would make a killing.

I worked at the biggest franchise (National Coney Island) for many years so this is the discourse I am trained for. We had a sandwich called the Hani (chicken fingers, lettuce, cheese, mayo on Greek pita) and our brand of chili is the base for most MI coney dogs. Everything else was an afterthought.

In MI we absolutely have places that are called diners (interchangeable with the term “family restaurant”) but I will not attempt to debate the cultural significance vis a vis Jersey, as per the previous agreement.

I would say Coneys are centered on our coney dog culture and not really a diner.

How do these people not realize this? Vote Blue No Matter Who? Trump used to publicly be a Democrat. Louis CK was a progressive hero. Russell Brand made overtures to liberals. I’m not saying Democrats can’t be monsters. I’m saying you can’t trust the policy promises of evil people. My head hurts.
