"Liberal" in particular seems to be a very slippery term. It has an actual capital-L definition, John Stuart & Harriet Taylor Mill etc, but I think that's a bit obscure now.
"What have you actually got in the fridge/cupboard" tends to be the more pertinent question chez nous, but your point stands
Because the government follows the press, and the press still thinks only blue-collar manufacturing or resource-extraction (farming, fishing, mining) are "real jobs" done by "hardworking people".
Everything else is an elitist "email job" done by the "lanyard class" who don't buy the Sun.
It's starting to look that way

Thorpeness is so east, increasingly more of it is underwater.
My dad, a railwayman originally from Thorpeness, took the phrase "West Anglia" (as in the train company WAGN) as a personal insult.
Cambs is clearly part of the East Midlands, or possibly an honorary Home County.
Essex is partly East Anglia and partly Basically London.

Why settle on one regiment? Plenty of scope for a scratch force made up of squads and vehicles from all over...
How do you know it's the sergeant's backpack if it doesn't have a crossbar banner-pole sticking out of it?
The number of people who seem to have fired off angry replies to this without actually reading it properly does indicate how these things spread so easily.

Braintree Town 1 Rochdale 2. Rochdale took the lead on 36 minutes and led for most of the game. Braintree equalised on 90+1 minutes, only for Rochdale to get a winner on 90+3.
GODDAMMIT ROCHDALE
(context: if Rochdale hadn't won this game, York would have been champions)
There was a bit of a cull of sane, sensible public-spirited mods adter the whole API thing a few years back too
