If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

Unbearable to watch
The @Astros aren't going away quietly 😮
Jeremy Peña hammers a grand slam to bring them within two runs!
(MLB x @DairyQueen)
It's bullshit. Last night featured the same.
The Third Reich didn't last 1,000 years.
Pinochet was ousted with a referendum.
And the US isn't exactly dealing with the smartest, most competent fascists.
Those of you insisting that 2025 is forever need to read a book, touch grass, go to therapy, anything other than trying to make others quit.
Tucker Carlson doing better than Chuck Schumer on this one if anyone still wants to sell me on the current Democratic Party
A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.
Final Score Graphic: 9/17/25 Texas Rangers 2 (79-74), Houston Astros 5 (84-69) Pictured: Jeremy Peña celebrates with Jose Altuve after hitting a home run. They both wear white Houston Astros uniforms with navy lettering and navy batting helmets.
The @Astros sweep the Rangers and take the Silver Boot in 2025!
Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.
I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.
The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.
Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.
This was a word AND he cussed 😂
We're witnessing the most aggressive, fanatical crackdown on free speech in my lifetime. The speed and breadth of government censorship and private sector and nonprofit capitulation has been astonishing. As has the lack of urgency/silence from people who've long claimed to care about this stuff.
If the right *truly* believed Charlie Kirk was a defender of free speech and someone who was fine with dissenting opinions, they wouldn't be engaged in a massive campaign to punish anyone who didn't "mourn him properly."
They clearly know all of that is bullshit. Only the media was conned.
My thoughts and prayers…
The one time we got the smoking gun of undeniable ideology that mapped neatly onto american partisanship in political violence was J6, and we decided it was too scary to treat it as such, so now we return to deciphering memes of school shooters like medieval peasants panicking at an eclipse.
I think one of the reasons we're seeing freakouts from right wing politicians and podcasters is that they're legit scared of their voters and fans. They know Charlie got murdered for talking like they do. And the suspect looks like all of their supporters and wasn't a "blue haired trans leftist"
the permission structure created for a bloodthirsty maga rampage the last two days by mainstream media, all before any facts were known at all, deserves some real introspection by the entire industry
The fact that right-wingers commit the vast bulk of domestic terrorism in the US is well-established by numerous expert investigations & reports.
But the right *accuses* the left more often, makes more *noise* about it, so they've bullied reporters into framing this as a "both sides" problem.
Charlie Kirk said this in July 13, 2023:
"Black women do not have brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a white person's slot."
Our politics seems to be entering a phase of "right supremacy" where only the lives of right-wingers have value. Assassinating the leader of a state legislative body in her own damn home was business as usual, but all of America has to have a reckoning if it's a far-right online influencer.
1) pic of Melissa and Mark Hortman 2) pic of Melissa Hortman and dog Gilbert
Remembering MN house speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their beloved dog Gilbert. Murdered in June at their home by a rightwing Trump-voting evangelist, who also shot another MN lawmaker and his wife at THEIR home, 9 and 8 times, respectively (miraculously, they survived).
‘Violence has no place in our politics, also check out the UFC Cage Match I’m bringing to the White House lawn next summer’
For everyone saying political violence has no place in this country…
Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year.
And America shrugged and moved on.
It is weird that the assassination of essentially a celebrity influencer is a bigger deal than the shooting of two top state legislators + their spouses
Charlie Kirk spent his life‘s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and we’re now not supposed to mention that because it’s not polite.
I thought people were exaggerating, but no, it really is the case that liberal politicians posting platitudes about the Nazi Youth youtuber never posted anything about Melissa Hortman
Jared Moskowitz calls on Chairman Jim Jordan to appoint House Republicans’ top investigator James Comer to retain a handwriting expert to find out who forged Trump’s signature on the Epstein birthday card 22 years ago.
i cannot believe they are expecting us to play along with this "might not be his signature" farce and that a lot of people actually are, i feel like ive lost my goddam mind
i think every democrat who does a cable news hit should start calling trump the pedophile president
