and you believe him? He couldn't have pressed harder to ask?

Keep defending the mediocre, we'll back Zack.

Ah yes, another 'voters can't think for themselves and they all blindly follow the media and actually Starmer is great' post.

Sighs. Ah well, into electoral oblivion Labour go in the locals.

Yeah, likewise. I'm sick of hearing 'it's the media's fault' or 'but the Torys!'. That was fine in late 2024.

Not in 2026. Stop defending mediocrity and ask better of what should be a proud labour party ffs.

Starmer's time to go has arrived. Shame, but don't see any way out of this.

Many thanks.

I grew up supporting United (I'm from Greater Manchester), but went watching Union in 2017 and got hooked. Club member now and go across a couple times a season (or try to), so I class Union as my (adopted) club now. Much more fun too.

Got my fingers crossed for Marie.

To make matters worse, they managed to get their hands on a generational striker and now an elite GK.

1 day ago 0 0 2 0

Fair enough.

It is annoying, but they have almost certainly the best coach, probably the best facilities, solid recruitment and can afford to swallow the odd poor signing and move on.

Listen, I hate City, but the argument they buy their way out of trouble in Jan generally doesn't stack up.

Get VAR, get BS.

No VAR and that ridiculous Martinez red is never given.

1 day ago 2 0 0 0

Yeah, you're right, but United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool are all able to spend big in Jan if they wish.

For the rest it's irrelevant as they aren't competing with City currently.

It's not in the PLs interest (their brand I mean) or City's interest.

The rest of us will just have to lump it unfortunately I suspect.

It's frustrating I agree, but ultimately on the pitch it's 11v11, and as United have shown eloquently, spending Β£100ms throwing good money after bad doesn't guarantee success.

If you want my twopenneth, nothing of significance will come of the charges.

1 day ago 0 0 1 0

Oh yeah, it's a joke, but at some point you've got to look at what's happened on the pitch and if City win the league, it's because they were better on the pitch this season.

1 day ago 1 0 1 0

For how long? Forever?

Just stinks of sour grapes from Arsenal fans today.

When do City's charges run from and to?

This is coming from a fan of a club who spent north of €200m Euros in the Summer. 🀣

As the fella said above, if City do win this particular season, they've won it fair and square.

(from someone who really dislikes City....)

bit*.

Clumsy fingers.

The truest but of this is "you have to be better".

See recent Mandelson news for just once case study. That's not the media's fault, it's the fault of Labour.

They are where they are because of who they are and what they've done.

"Victim blaming" 🀣 🀣 🀣

That really should be enough internet for me today.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Hmmm, interesting.

Because I also think the reverse is true, managers who continually fail to win trophies, particularly at bigger clubs, should quickly lose kudos for that.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Fickle fans for you, but I do think that trophies should carry more weighting than just a league position.

Particularly when you land outside of your 'big teams', it's so rare for the others to win anything, so it should be valued when managers do.

If Carrick doesn't get the job next season after beating City, Arsenal, Chelsea and potentially the Scousers, I'm done.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Do you know what, thanks for this, I half forget about the Express but it's the paper the potentially annoys me the most.

It's the sort of 'Brexity In-laws' tone that grinds my gears. Not even a pretence of dressing it into an intelligent argument.

If that equaliser last night wasn't a sign, I don't knowledge what is.

I just think Forest and West Ham are better.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

Which is exactly Lewis G's point.

LAB cannot afford to give them easy ammunition.

2 days ago 1 0 0 0

Lewis is right though, to just moan that 'it's not fair' is limp and will only lead to another horrible REF/CON GOVT.

Therefore, like it or not, LAB do need to be held to a higher standard, and THEY need to take the media on themselves too, particularly Gbeebies and Telegraph/Mail.

Tice β€˜happy to put things right’ after β€˜he failed to pay Β£100k in corporation tax’ Mr Tice said last year Angela Rayner would resign if she had β€œany moral decency” after admitting to underpaying stamp duty

Richard Tice deputy leader of Reform ran four shell companies which did not pay any tax on profits between 2020 and 2022.

He's now offering to "put things right".

Go on then Richard - resign.

Mhm.

The skill set required to be a rabble rouser compared to a PM are very different. I suspect Farage knows this deep down.

Which is why I don't think he will be standing for the entity on the right in the next GE.

Tracey, I've noticed a few posts of this nature.

I'd love Starmer and Labour to succeed, but comparing them both to BJ and the Tories is achieving the opposite you think it is. They're gone. We need a much higher bar.

If that's the defence now, in 2026, he's probably done.

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

That's fine, you're right, we will agree on a lot of things.

It's important not to be complacent. 2024 was essentially a free hit for the LAB party. They'd be incredibly fortunate for that to happen in 2029.

Tbh, having given it some thought tonight, I think that's pretty fair, yes.
