Interesting conviction. Seems unlikely for me. But I do see that Bluesky and X could eventually mutually exist through shared protocols.
Very pleased to see how much Bluesky has grown, in terms of the community and dialogue, and also in terms of the functionality of the app. It's been a while and it feels nice to be back here.
So does threads play a role?
It seems that Threads can now post to other ActivityPub networks, making it perhaps more integrated into the fediverse than X or Bsky.
What is happening here?
Does ATProto make more sense? Do ActivityPub and ATProto have a mutual future?
If this is Blue sky, it seems like we might want to code name X as Red earth. The truth is that we need both; the future isn't blue nor is it red; it is inclusive.
I don't think a mass exodus from X is will support the kind of dialogue that we need in this world; but I do think communication thrives best in a diversity of ecosystems, and this seems to be one place where it is happening. I hope one day, X and Bsky share a common protocol to network together.
