The fact that Iggy Pop and Elaine May share a birthday, and are both still among us, makes me rethink the entire notion of banning royalty in the US.
If you called her "the goat," I think you'd get one of the most withering staredowns in history. But the truth is the truth. Happy 94th to Elaine May. Long may she reign!
Iggy Pop, shirtless comme d'habitude, impeccable abs, mouth slightly open, staring insolently at the camera in black-and-white.
Iggy. The one and the only. Our bravest hero. One can only imagine the genius embedded in every sinew of his glorious and impossible body.
He was the world's forgotten boy, but today we remember. This is is birthday.
We are fortunate beyond measure to have him among us.

Creating a humanoid robot that can catch you no matter how fast you can run does not actually give the comfort the manufacturer intended.
After building the best public education system in the world brought us the Counterculture and the Anti-War Movement, conservatives in the US began a 50+ year assault to destroy public education.
Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.
Thank you, Mr. W!
Thank you. And agreed. 100%.
Typo! 67 stories!
Thank you, Chris!!!

The Poodle Room in Las Vegas: an exclusive, members-only, poodle-themed lounge and social club located on the 89th floor of the Fontainebleau, where Kash Patel denies getting blotto.
Because nobody takes notes on a criminal fucking conspiracy.
Everyone's saying that 'cellar door' is the most beautiful phrase in the English language but I'm thinking it might be 'laundry basket.'
Calm down, computer software isn't making decisions about who lives and who dies in war. It merely processes a ton of data and then makes a recommendation to a human who has no realistic way to verify it
We used to have to get written permission if someone was going to appear in the background of something filmed. How are tech bros allowed to just consume every photo you've ever taken, analyse and name the people in it and use it for their own money making?
Love this!

Chess, two ways.
You had me at “the hard way.”
The desperate campaign to push AI down our throats is just what Nestlé did with baby formula, or Monsanto with patended seeds.
Manufactured Intermediation—inserting a corporate tollbooth into a process that used to be self-sustaining, using a low initial barrier to entry to destroy the alternative.
Drop your crime-fighting Catholics.
trumps appointees being alcoholic incompetents and trumps jan 6th supporters being pedophiles seems like something historians are going to be studying tbh
The head of the FBI isn't supposed to be getting blackout drunk. He's supposed to be cross-dressing
The defense secretary is derisively comparing the media to a maligned group of rabbinic Jews, the FBI director is denying reports of drunkenness on the job, the vice president is in a two-front theological war with the pope and Erika Kirk, Donald Trump is still president, and gas is $4. Happy Friday
I watched Eastman, in real time, testify to the Georgia General Assembly that it was their *duty* to overturn my vote in 2020. He lied about evidence. He misled his client about the law. Law profs who back wannabe coup leaders and authoritarians should retire because what’s the point of law at all?
Not once in the 80s, 90s or 00s do I recall a politician urging the public to embrace email, mobile phones, texting, two factor authentication, online banking, air fryers, or to replace all their cassette collection with a CD collection.
So forgive me if I smell a rat.

Homeopathic voter fraud.
I fucked up my knee by wearing a pair of their walking shoes in the snow and it had no traction at all, so they were already dead to me, but now they’re extra dead.
