It was a rewarding experience to present our personalized learning work to such a passionate group of educators from across the country. And to top it all off, I am beyond proud to share that our school was officially recognized as a Magnet School of Distinction.

We just wrapped up our 3D-printed jewelry design challenge. The result? A very fashionable intersection of STEM and Style. While students designed for themselves in this challenge, next quarter they will take what they have learned and engage in a design cycle to make a meaningful piece for a peer

The staff gave these budding designers a true taste of the professional world and had lots of requests for the students during the design process.

Kudos to the students for navigating the engineering design process like pros and delivering excellent final products.

Seeing them tackle a genuine design challenge, take feedback, and experience that client-designer relationship firsthand was incredible. I’m so proud of their hard work.

Next up: cookie cutters for their families and school staff.

My homeroom students interviewed their first grade buddies and together they designed the perfect bubble wand. Then, my students brought the designs to life in Tinkercad and and 3D printed them. We ended the week gifting the buddies with the completed wands and having a bubble blowing party!

“Well into its second century, Lazarus’s masterpiece still commands the American imagination, offering a pledge that remains fulfillable but unfulfilled, impossible to enforce and impossible to repeal.”
